question about hooking up 2 pc's using time warner

I have a Motorola SBV5220 Surfboard (the cable modem w/ telephone line), D-Link Model EBR-2310, and Time Warner highspeed connection. I've tried to power down both the router and cable modem, connect the surfboard to the the WAN slot on the the router, connect both pc's to the router.

Vista won't accept XP network account permissions

I've recently bought myself a new Dell PC with Vista Home Premium pre-installed (wish I hadn't bothered now, as Vista has been nothing but a headache for me!). My latest difficulty has been trying to get Vista to allow my old XP Home SP2 machine to connect to its shared folders.

have setup two domain controllers on separate sites connected via LevelOne routers on a wireless link backbone. I have setup a domain trust between the two servers and am able to authenticate users from either site without any problems.

On our network, we have one domain specified called A. However, when you go to Entire Network -> Microsoft Windows Network from any PC joined to the domain A, there are 4 other mystery networks listed there.

Problem running internet with router in Vista

I just got a Dell XPS 410 yesterday. I managed to get the internet up and running, but when I tried to connect my Linksys WRT54G router to the modem and computer, I couldn't even connect to the internet let alone access the router through its IP.

I have a new Presario SR2173WM running VISTA. This computer is networked with my HP W2040 with XP and my daughters Presario running VISTA. Each computer has a shared folder named dwnlds for downloads and file transfer.

Windows 2000 server TS printing issues

It seems to be a recurring problem. Some (but not all) don't seem to get their local printers added. I can not find any security reasons for the users that CAN vs. the ones that can't. I am starting to think about getting one of these third part TS printing solutions.

XP - Lost all network connections

I am running XP (unfortunately) and tried to install a Belkin router. It appeared to install, bet when I tried to manually configure the router (not the computer) I found all 4 of my network connections gone.

Windows XP Share can't add Domain users

I help manage a small network that has a Win2K server and a few machines all running XP SP2. One machine has this weird issue where I can share a directory but when I add users, I can not add DOMAIN users, only local users.

How to remove GRUB loader!?

I deleted all linux partitions with Partition Magic and converted them to FAT32. When i restart my computer the GRUB command line thingie loads and the computer doesn't boot any startup disks or windows cd's.

Hey So, here is the thing. Downstairs in my flat complex there is a friend who want to setup a router as a Internet sharing point. I tried setting his router up so that it will share the connection, normally i have no problem with this (since i have 2 set up in my apartment on two dsl connections.

Hey I share my access point with all the peeps that wants it. So called non secure wireless network access point Yes i know how to secure it so they cant connect, but I have to ADSL lines in my home and I like the free principle so that peeps with no broadband at home can browse , read email etc.
