i was transfering files from my brothers pc to mine over lan (ethernet) and was monitoring the windows taskmanager. i was connected at 100mbps and network utilization is 25 to 30% Questions: - does it mean im only utilizing 30% of the 100mbps? (30mbps?) - is there a tweak or somethign i can do to increase it? ;(.

Can anyone help me. I have NT workstation linked by network to a win2000 pc with a shared HP deskjet 890c. Every time i try to add the printer to my own printers, the PC errors on every driver I install, even from the install disk of the printer.

I just moved one of my desktops over to log into my active directory. My account has Domain Administrator rights, yet when I log onto my desktop running Windows XP. . . I am getting access denied on some of the administrator functions on the local machine.

Our Windows 2000 AD domain uses a DHCP server. This is fine, any Windows box on the network is automatically configured with an IP address etc. However, we have some Linux boxes that are running DHCP - these are so that we can attach set-top boxes to the network.

It will have only two local accounts: Administrator and Public I wanted to use local group policies to lock down the public acct. , but how do I set those policies so they don't affect the Administrator? I can give temporary admin rights to public and set the policies.

We've got a tiny lan of win98 machines with one win2k machine acting as server. This machine suddenly goes down, switches itself off, after work after staying up fine all day. then if someone comes in and restarts it it'll only stay up for maybe an hour.
