I was transfering a folder that was 80 mb from my friend and it took like just 15 seconds and i was like shit! because our network-cards dont support 100mbit uploading, then we tested to transfer a folder that was 3.

Login on NT domain from a XP home edition

Hello everybody. I'm at work right now and I cant find how to login on a NT 4 SP6a domain from a XP home edition. On 9x/ME, I set the domain double-clicking on 'windows network client' and choose 'logon on NT domain' (I use brazilian portuguese Windows, but you'll got the picture).

i have two servers that are both running win2k3 enterprise edition i would like to cluster them together so that i have a failover. i don't really use them for storage i use them for spliting up the cable modem to the network.

I have 4 mapped drives on my computer that I use often from my school. I am stuck in a shitty building far away from the servers so the latancy is extreamly high. Whenever I view my computer, the system hangs for a while, sometimes it's VERY annoying.

Hi Guys I have an issue where there are too many admins at work and the IT manager wants to reduce the number of admins. But the demoted guys need printer and user operator, and access to tweak and amend settings on a w2k pro workstation.

We finally got our networking going with XP. Just had to turn on 1 hidden setting. . . Anyway me and my dad both have XP Pro and our network is running fine. We have a home network and have an ISDN connection.

Hi all, I just install a NAS server and is going to move all user files into it. The NAS is access via http:. Here my issue, I want to create a share for each users using the user1$ name so other users can't see the share names when they browse the server.

internet dropping after 20mins

i got 3 pc on my lan, 2 have win98 and 1 is xp, the 2 98 pcs work fine and can be on net all day with no prob but the xp pc only gets about 20mins then its internet goes dead and i have to restart it to get back on.

I am trying to help a friend fix a slow boot problem in XP Home. She has a DSL modem connected to a network adapter. She has a dynamic IP address, where the modem acts as a DHCP server. She needs to run some sort of program to start her internet session.

Hi I'm trying to find out what kind of a system my friend can upgrade to. I'm sure he can upgrade his Cyrix PR275 to a PR433, however I think AMD might make a faster solution since Cyrix sucks and went out of business.
