I was looking for some instructions to enable filesharing with two computers running on Win XP Pro, with a Linksys BEFSR41 router, and found some Now I got sharing up and running but when I was assigning the names for the computers, I remember seeing something about a NetBIOS computer name.

I was at a friend of mine and I saw how easy is to bridge two LAN cards on a PC with WinXP - just mark and click. Does anyone know how this can be done on Windows NT 4 ? (I suppose it's not just a couple of clicks).

I know that it's possbile to have two statics IP on one physical NIC. But is it possbile to have to dynamic IP numbers on one physical NIC? My ISP allows me to have five ip's. So I wonder if I can have two ip's on one nic? I'm running windows 2003 server.

For months now, my connection speed will randomly slow down rapidly and eventually cut off all together. The only way to remedy this is to reset the cable modem. Since late May or early June I've had to reset my modem 5-10 times a day typically.

Running Windows 2000 Advanced Server with most up to date service packs. System boots and runs without any problems. But as soon as it finishes login and after 5 min passes I can't copy and paste anymore.

VPN Stopped Working...

I have a VPN set up between two businesses, for some odd reason the whole thing stopped working. Hardware is Symantec Firewall/VPN 100 at both locations. I have it set up like they say to on the website and documentation CD.

Firstly, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum; I have been using the same firewall for a very long time without issue. It's an old Dell box running IPCOP (a Smoothwall clone, I guess). For those familiar, it's a RED/GREEN setup, where RED = WAN card & GREEN = LAN card.

I am setting up a Windows 2000 Server on a mixed network. OSes include Windows 98, SE, ME and Windows XP Pro. The server has a Public Static IP and the rest of the machines get private (192. 168. 0. x series) DHCP from a DSL router.

I got 2 machines running windows xp (1 desktop using a 3com905c nic, and an aopen laptop with integrated nic) the thing is that randomly both machines disable their nic, go into device manager, hit enable, and it works for a while till it disables itself again.

OK. I am looking for a program that will trottle the bandwidth for one IP on my network. Here is my setup: W2K server running Winroute as a gateway connected to a switch. I only have a 256/128 cable connection and I have one user that is sucking up all of the bandwidth.

OK. . . this is a problem that a friend of mine has been having for a while now and I don't know how to fix it. . . He had a power outage last week. Everything went off and back on just like that. The monitor wasn't recieving a signal from the box at all.

Hello all, Got a little problem. I download a trial win2003 server from MS. After installation the system reboot to a black screen, and keyboard does not work. I tried reinstalling serveral times and on 2 seperate computers and it's the same thing.
