Hello there, I am new to VPN so I have a question: I need to make an VPN connection to VPN server computer which is located in my 'home' network. MS ISA Server computer (gateway) sends VPN requests to VPN Server and everything works fine.

LAN problems

I was trying to set up a LAN via ethernet between my computer and my friend's laptop - I am running 2000 Pro, he is running XP Pro. The two were connected up but no matter what we tried, we couldn't get a connection.

Full or half duplex?

hi all, i have been set the task of implementing a gigabit ethernet lan, gigabit all the way to the desktop (about 400 users) could someone tell me if i should use full or half duplex ? i read somewhere that there isn't any equipment available for half-duplex.

Networking a Win2k and W98SE computer

I noticed that when i networked my windows 2000 and windows 98 machine that if i didn't login under the same name on both that it wouldn't let me access the shared folders across the network. Is this how it should be ? If i clicked on the shared folder it would ask me to put a pw in but i never setup a pw.

Problems accessing a certain website w/ winXP

My friend is unable to access my website from his winXP laptop. He can get to every other page but mine. i ran a traceroute on my site from his laptop & recieved the following results: Tracing route to over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 * * * Request timed out.

Hello everyone, When I try to open an exe from my LAN or Network Drive, I receive the IE Secuirty warning which says that this type of file could harm your computer. . . The checkbox is grayed out.

How do I shut down other PCs on LAN

I run a network at home and would like to be able to shut down (power off) the other PCs from any other station. What is the easiest way ? Apparently this should be possible through a vbs script, what should this look like / do I need to have some software running for it ? Harry.

When I right-click on Local Area Connection in Network Connections and choose Properties, I get pop-up error saying that An unexpected error occured. I clearly remember that I did not have this error message two weeks ago.

I have already posted something on this topic but just in case it is not seen here it is again. I have a laptop with the SiS 900-Based fast ethernet adapter, but I can only connect to the net through USB rather than an ethernet cable.

Connection problems with SIS 900 PCI Ethernet card

Hi, my flat mate has a laptop with an integrated SIS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter and he has troubels connecting to the in house DSL connection. Even though ipconfig shows that the laptop is connected to the DSL network, he can't open any website and he has no incoming packets on his network connection.

Assign a static IP address without a network connection

Does anybody know how to assign a static IP address in XP without a network connection? when I have no network connection XP can not connect to its static address, so I cannnot create communication between my PC with my vitual PC, which is a linux operating system.

Blocking access to internet on VPN

Hi, I have VPN set up on an XP pro machine. Everything works fine (although it took a loooooong time for it to get that way ). The problem is that whenever I connect to the VPN, my client machine starts using the Host's internet connection instead of its own.

DNS, DHCP, or the DC something is screwed up in Ackronym Land

My DC is running my DHCP on the small network Im operating. All the computers running on the DC were set to find the DNS server automatically (in the TCP/IP properties). . . . and everything has worked like a charm for a year.

I need help with Outlook Express 6, please. Everything was working fine. Then yesterday I opened OE6 to check my mail and got the an error message 0x800CCC0D server could not be found. Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it?.
