Weird Issue

Hi Guys, this is the scenario: 4 workstations running Win98 SE, and another workstation acting as a file server running Win2k Professional. When I go to Network Places in any of the Win98 workstations, there are no visible PC's, and if I double click Entire Network it gives the error could not access network.

winxp sp2 network - cant see pc"s?

I setup a network with XP home Sp1 Last week and all works fine. Last night i installed a hub and 2 pcs with Xp home SP2 and they cant see each other. Heres the setup : - 2 desktops, Xp Home SP2. They dont need internet access - 1 x 5 Port hub , - 1 x A3 scanner.

Password will expire in 14 days - can I set it to say 3 days?

My NT server has a policy which requires the users to reset their passwords every month. It reminds them of that when there is 14 days to go until their passowrd expires and that annoys them! Is is possible to alter that setting (I guess it is in the registry somewhere) so that the reminder pops up at say 3 days to ...

XP to NT4 domain

First, set up TCPIP on XP machines as follows: IP address -> DHCP or static Netmask -> ditto Gateway -> DHCP (must point to subnet's router) DNS -> Points to Intranet's DNS server WINS -> Points to WINS Server The computer name must be unique with upto 12 characters long preferably Letters and Digits.

Adobe print problem

Network running windows 2000. Have a thin client running on terminal services. Prints from all applications other than adobe (acrobat6 or reader6). When a pdf is selected and print is selected the message printer not installed.
