Im trying to send a file to a friend of mine but it's only upping at 21KB/sec and my upload speed from my ISP is 256, he's got a good cable connection too. I tried using AIM and Easy File Sharing, and getthe same speeds.

i have a laptop from work that is part of a windows domain. the laptop runs win2k sp4. my home computer is on winxp pro sp2. problem i'm having is, i can't use windows file sharing at home when i log onto the laptop using an offline account.

Hello all, I am new to this group, and thank all of you in advance for any help you can offer. My problem is this. I have a laptop that is networked with my company, and it is on a domain (hard-wired).

my acer TM 420 crashed and caused some damage to the c: drive it would appear. i'm trying to reboot via the vendor supplied cd-rom; booting from this cd doesn't grant access to the 'recovery console' but to some acer specific application which allows xp to be re-installed.

Hi can anyone help. A friend set up my WIN2000 server a while back and I have now lost touch. I have a win2000 server running with a partioned drives. It does not seem to have netbeui running and yet win98 can login and see the drives.

I have a client who has information on their desktop under the desktops shared folder. This user wants to access this information on their notebook, when they connect to the network on site. I set up this directory as shared.

I have Windows XP Pro SP2. I have a home network that is networked with all XP Pro computers except for one that is Windows 98SE. My computer was the first one to have SP2 on it. For some odd reason I cannot get at Shared Music, Pictures, or Videos.

We have 2 computers, one with XP and the other with windows2000. I would like to network them, but haven't yet bought a router; I intend to eventually but want to make sure I can at least get started before spending much money.

I tried installing this Debian version on both my Intel system and AMD system and it didn't work on either one. Both died in the process of trying to install software acrossed the internet. Even the main release has issues with finding my Intel Pro network card.
