Advice Needed on dual booting and Partition Magic

I have a Dell 8200, Windows 2000 Professional - 80 Gig harddrive, 512 mg memory which has been having lots of little glitch problems for a long time. I'm using it as a stand alone computer, not networked, no server, etc.

Opening & Savings files takes forever

What could cause opening a file or saving a file, plus other simple tasks, to take several minutes? I have a Dell 8200, 80 Gig harddrive, 512 memory. Lots of harddrive, lots of memory, no problems there but my computer just takes forever to perform simple tasks.

Hi all Sorry for my english I ve a TBIRD 1. 2 on an ABITKT7a After installing the SP1 for winxp, i ve seen many lags when playing games. I ve 256 Mo sdram 133 and the problem come when the program use virtual memory on the HDD.

Can Win2K partitions be hidden with Drive Image 5.0?

For the life of me, I can't seem to hide one of my partitions (haven't tried any of the others). I'm using Win2K Pro but with FAT32 partitions. Okay, I go into DriveImage DOS and I can highlight and set the partition to Hide.

Hi Alec, Thanks for the post. I'm sure DK users will appreciate that. I personally don't have a DK license so it's much a-do about nothing for me. Although I was just thinking earlier today about what a load of crap it is that Norton Calls their 2001-2002 (possibly 2003) scandisk product Norton Disk Doctor.

i have a liteon 40x writer, but both WinOnCD and nero 5. 5 are trying to conivince me its only a 24, i have all the latest patches for nero, as far a s iknow, and i'm running 3. 8 WinOnCD. Anyone any ideas? or am i missing as patch ?.

Hi Gang, I have removed an OSA. exe from my startup. I recall in the past having problems with office without it, but currently everything seems to be working fine. This isn't that stupid program that searches for Office documents when you're system is idle is it? Thanks, Christian Blackburn.

Hi all! I Have this 2 problems with this new SBlive official drivers from 10/03/2003 1 - I've noticed since i installed this drivers I get no sound from the CENTER channel in some games (ex. Americas Army), wich didn't happend with the early drivers.

Internet Explorer opens installer

A problem thats been bugging me for weeks now. On an XP machine here, everytime you enter a word in the address bar of internet explorer it doesnt just open the search page etc. . . it just opens a windows installer.

Unreadable CDRW after using INCD

Just thought I should pass on some valuable info (IMHO), over the last year I've been unfortunate to have somehow made useless discs out of CDRW, I've been using Nero INCD (I don't believe it's Nero's fault.

auto shut-off, and auto-turn on... how?

hey guys, i know there is some way to do this, or at least part of it. heres what I need, maybe someone knows a good way to do this. i need a way to set a computer (likely with a program) to automatically shut down at a specific time, and then turn it self on at a specific time.

When use the latest version of LavaSoft Ad-aware(ver. 6. 0 build 160) on my NTFS5 formatted XP pro SP1 installed Harddisk drive, the system would on some occasions reset by itself and without any warning message ever pop-up; it occurs during the scanning of the drive by ad-aware.

Error message opening Winamp; MSVCR70.dll can't be found.

I get a error message when I open Winamp V3 A DLL MSVCR70. dll can't be found at the specifyed path. The program runs ok as far as mp3 files though. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, but the same thing.
