How do I uninstall WMP9 and reinstall WMP8...

Morning all. I just recently upgraded to WMP9 and loathe it. Does anyone know how I can get WMP8 back short of reinstalling my OS(WinXP Pro). Thanks in advance either way. .

Excel XP problem

I having trouble with Excel 2002 on my folks machine (a 600Mhz Celeron with 256Mb RAM running Windows XP SP1a). What's happening is that normally, when you double-click an excel file in Explorer, Excel will start and load the file but now, for some reason it doesn't.

GUys I still use ICQ99b ( the one with no ads) and it works ok but I really want to upgrade to the newer ones but hate all the ads and AOL @#$%. Any way to remove all the exces chunk from the newer versions?.

why do my apps take so long to start?

I just got myself a new pc, well, built it myself. Its fast enough when things are open etc, but it takes longer for this one to open apps than my last pc! For example, if i click explorer, in the quick start bar, it can often take 5,6 or 7 secs to open up an explorer! the strange thing is that if i click it 4 time ...

Hey guys. . . . no offense on the women part. . . How do i run, for example: Norton Antivirus 2000 under DOS level for a Windows 2000 Server? Is it possible? I may have been infected so deeply that i am trying to run the antivirus under DOS.

Well I found out firsthand some issues with MS and it's license policies. Last Sept I downloaded a trial of Money 2003 Deluxe, and purchased the upgrade for $39. 95, which btw was cheaper then the $59.

Switching over to NTFS from FAT32 running 2k

I just got a 80GB drive and I think it would be best to finally go with NTFS, but all my other drives are FAT32 ( 3 more on 2 separate boxes both running 2k). No other changes other than removing a 20GB and replacing it with a 80GB.

Morning all. I just had a question on user management under Windows 2000 Advanced Server. I recently received a list of users on an Excel spreadsheet to input into my Active Directory but I've never done this before as I've created all my domain users from scratch from a list.

Question about XP SP1a

Whats the easiest way to tell whether an XP system is running Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 1a if both still have the MS JVM installed? The System Properties still say Service Pack 1 and the System Information tool shows both the SP1 machine and the SP1a machine as having the same version of XP.

cloning xp with ghost 2003

I need a little help. I am Building a new cpu for my mother in law. I did a fresh install of xp pro on her hard drive. But drive is too small (3. 1 gig wd) so I used norton ghost 2003 to a bigger drive, but now the new drive will only boot to starting window screen with no user buttons to log on to.

Workaround for IE "input type crash" bug

It is known that the single line of <input type crash> would crash IE, and this is due to a syntax error induce bug in IE. Try inculding the <body> tag into the page, such as: <html><body><input type crash size=20></body></html> The problem apparently gone.

Undeletable directory... Please help!

I recently cancelled an unzip operation in PowerArchiver and now I cant delete the directory it made; the best explination I can come up with is I dragged the file with the right mouse button and clicked Extract to <name of zip>.

Arrghhh. . . I was using bullet proof FTP. . . was working fine, except NO ONE could (even me, with full access with FTP account) write / delete / overwrite / modify files. anywhere. . . So I switched to Serv-U 4.

Yet another Nero Question

Actually two questions. 1) Nero detects my Lite-On 52x24x52 as having a max write speed of 40x. I have burned at 52x before. Anyone know why? 2) I have used Nero to find the max speed of my cdr media but I can no longer find where this option is.

vs.net 2k2 hang

There is a 10 - 15 second hang whenever i try to run an application in vs. net 2k2 on win2k3. debug or release doesnt matter. start without debugging does the same thing. If i run it again it gets faster.

Black-white screen when trying to record with MovieMaker2

Windows XP Home Edition - Windows moviemaker2 When i connect my VCR with a S-video cable to my computer I get a black & white screen. No colors. The videocard is a Radeon 9600 ATX. Now, I've heard that the problem could be that I have to change the settings from PAL to nsct.

Any one know which av software runs under Server 2003 Standard edition. I'm ready to migrate my Internet connection, but I want AV on the server first. I have NAV2002, but that won't work Any help will be gratefully accepted L8R DMH.
