I noticed a patch for IE and one for DAC, so I downloaded them and rebooted. I noticed that nothing that usually loads at startup actually did so. Not even my Antivirus. Strange indeed! So I tried to load at least one of them post boot and I get some wierd error message about the file not being there, but it was.

XP Crashes on Reboot

After installing 30 patches through windowsupdate (over 40 megs) on one of my laptops I have now found that the machine crashes when I try and reboot it. It shuts down fine its just when I want to restart xp does it crash.

Problem installing/running Microsoft Project 95 on XP

Hi guys, I have been trying to get an old version of MS Project running on Windows XP Pro SP1. It is MS Project 95, I have the 3. 5 disk version. The floppy disks are just fine, since I can install it on my Win98 machine, but on my XP one it just says Error copying Winproj.

Windows XP Internet Explorer problems

Hi guys My Athlon XP 1800+ has been working without a problem for 1 year. But the problems started 2 days ago. Every time i run IE, the hard disk starts to work without pause and the system runs at slow motion, but i have a swap file of 768 mb and there are more than 5 gbs of free space in my HD.

defragmentation error

when i try to defrag my d: it says 'Engine Connection lost' but i can defragment all my other partitions. hd1 : c:\ and d:\ hd2 : g:\ and f:\ all defragment fine except d:\ any ideas ?.

Deleting a partition

i formatted my second hdd(drive F:\)and it made a small 7mb partition(drive E:\). I want to delete the E:\ and just get rid of the drive letter. How can i do that without erasing anything that is on drive F:\.

Shortcut to run?

If I was to link to run through a shortcut, how would I do then? just typing run wont work, typing notepad works, is there even a 'run' thing, I hope you know what I mean, the little console you can reach via the start menu not to be mistaken for the command promt, or cmd for some.

Probleme With Excell link from Windows 2 K serveur

It's not the first time i meet this problem. From every new computer of my network, i can't open EXCELL FILES which is on our serveur. If i copy the Excel files on my Local drive, it work. From the serveur, never (i verified every permissions) Is somebody know this problem ??? Thank you everybody.

Printscreen Problems

I was playing a movie in WMP and paused it (not maximised) and took a screen shot using the 'printscreen' button, but when i pasted it into paintshop, i see my whole desktop but the image in WMP was just black?? do i need some special software to get an image from a video file? thanks
