PinkPanther
Hi all, on my Windows XP Pro machine, I am having the issue of Windows Messenger always auto-login in when the machines boots up. I have already set the options in Messenger to not run at astartup and not be allowed to run in background, but still it always logs me in when the machine boots up.

experts with Norton Internet - logfile help

Grape
Hi all, I have Norton Internet Security. To view my activity logs I go to Statistics, then View Logs. But there is a way to disable the logging for those folders, is there a way to make this Disable feature unselectable? I'd like to either gray it out or have it not show at all, is this possible by tweaking? Thank ...

How to setup HTTPS for IIS on 2K3?

dcxman
Morning all. I've never had to implement a HTTPS web server until now. Can anyone tell me what exactly I'm looking for in order to install on top of IIS6 in order to have HTTPS running? I know it's a noob question but I've never had to deal with HTTPS setup until now.

SightSpeed Video Messenger compatibility Creative webcam III

jorgeapuebla
I'd like to find out if SightSpeed Video Messenger has been used by anyone in this forum, using a Creative Webcam III, under WinXP. I'm aware that this camera is not in the list of cameras recommended by SightSpeed and I've made sure that my driver is the latest available.

Morning, Quick Q - I want to be able to log onto my email accounts via the web - I understand this is possible with MS Exchange, however I have a Server2k3 box (connected to XP clients) and am sure I read somewhere this is possible via existing software on that OS.

ZoneAlarm error, but now back to normal

Ace
This morning, my firealarm was busted. I looked at my computer and I realized that ZoneAlarm's icon bad an X over it. It said that TrueVector has shut off and my firewall is set at lowest. It said there was a system error and it needs me to restart the computer in order for it to work again.

GREAT new FREE Undelete tool!

jmmijo
I'll try this out and see how it works. Also, I didn't notice any support for RAID arrays. This is something I have to have support for as I've had an array or two dump on me I found R-Studio to work wonders here, even on damaged RAID arrays I think Mr.

Admin disabled Windows Update...

Brian Frank
This is odd: for some reason, my personal account has been denied access to Windows update. My personal account is part of Administrators and Power Users. I have Win2k SP2 installed. How do I set it so I don't have to go into the Admin account to update Windows? Thanx.

USB and NT 4.0: What about digi-cams?

hajo_s
Hallo! Some notes and questions referring to USB for Windows NT: DELL's USB-software for NT with the Inside-Outside Drivers works great with mem-sticks. Sticks don't come up with special drivers, they are plugged and recognized at once, a drive with new letter is created.

Microsoft VM in XP_SP1 or Sun Java?

ofelas
Seems that Microsoft VM uses less resources than Sun's Java browser plugin. . . any thoughts? Also, does SP2 (final or build 2055) break Microsoft VM? Don't remember where, but I think I came across the fact that build 2055 disables Java applets from loading/displaying in IE6_2055 regardless of security settings.

Mailwasher & base64 subject headers

Alien
Does anyone know how to filter out spam in Mailwasher with subjects that are enocoded in base64, i. e. those that start with =?ISO-8859-1. . . . . . etc? It's doing my head in. I've reckon I've got the hang of creating filters for it pretty well, but I'm stumped with these 1s.

Dynamic Drive Overlay, know where I can get it?

Marker0077
The older Western Digital hard drives have a partition proggy & in that proggy is a program called Dynamic Drive Overlay or DDO for short. This program allows booting off of CD-ROMS on boards that BIOS do not support this.
