Hi, Let me start by saying I'm used to NAV 2003 using Live Update 1. 9 to auto check for definitions & program updates all by itself-it generally kept my anti-virus definitions current (at least 2 days prior to the current date).

Windows XP playing up!!!

HI, i have been running windows XP for about 3 months now. at first i got that blaster virus(got rid of that). then it was ok for 3 months. but recently for the past 2 weeks i have been getting problems with my internet explorer.

Windows XP Command Prompt

Hi, I have a simple question regarding command prompt in windows xp. I am working in some directory let say C:\abd\def\fef\dfdfd\. . . It is possible that I can have the command prompt without the whole path in every commandline.

Question, I leave our NT server not logged in to prevent unauthorised access. But I would like to automate it logging in each evening at 12am as the backup user and running ntbackup to backup the entire drive, then logging out.

How can I view advanced system information. ie. msinfo. exe ? I have Windows XP pro and when I click ( in help and support ) on advanced info. I get the Help and Support page again. I found the file msinfo.

Explorer Hanging on boot

Recently, explorer has started hanging right after boot for about 30-60 seconds. During this time, if I click on the start menu or try to open explorer, I will just get the hourglass. After 30-60 seconds, whatever I clicked on will pop up and everything will be fine after that.

Hi, I'm running Win XP Pro. when I go to Inter Expl My home page is not what it's suppose to be. I have gone to the folder Windows/sys32 and I have two files that are part of the problem, I think. They are- mtwirl.

i just installed protowall, the newest version and when i click the program it says. . . protowall. sys is not loaded. Install the driver and reload the application I've already installed the program, and the driver shows up in the program folder, so what am i suppose to do here?.

webserver/site not working outside my pc

i'm running apache2. 0. 49 on a winserver2003 box. within the last few days, my website isn't accessible to the outside world, but i can access it via mozilla on my host pc. a few days ago i uninstalled active directory & i lost alot of stuff that had to be reinstalled so this may be the cause but i'm not totally sure.

problem with taskbar

Occasionally I have to reboot explorer. exe to unlag it as it eats of resources or when it crashes. The problem I have is that I have programs that run solely in the taskbar and when I restart explorer, they disappear from the taskbar.

There are tons of GUI based programs that I have found to close 'close_wait' on a particular port. I've been looking for a command-line utility (a simple one) that will do this. Is there a utility out there for this? Thanks in advance.

Clients can't access server resources when server is locked.

I don't want anyone getting into the server via the actual server itself, I only want people to be able to get into the server via the network only, so I lock the server but the only problem is when I lock the server, no one can access the printer or any of the file resources.
