i have mcafee virus scan 7 professional when i install it an run it it is fine when i update it and then run it it fails and gives me an appcompat. exe error. what do i need to do to fix it \ i have tried the uninstall recommended by mcafee and reinstalled but it didn'twork for me.

I got BHODemon 2 or 3 weeks ago. Couple days ago, the program wont open. The tips show up but when i try to start up the program, the computer responds by showing working in background cursor then just gives up.

Image C Drive using Norton Ghost?Need Help ....

Hi I think this will be a very long question from me. The scenario is I frequently formatting my C: (Windows xp Partition) after about 3 months or so ,since I want to have a clean registry etc. However I read some websites that saying that we can use Norton Ghost to make images of any partition into DVD-R media(s).

outlook 2000 on xp pro

I'm running outlook 2000 on xp pro with two different profiles. The first profile seems to work fine. However, when I bring up the second profile it doesn't work. I can't send or recieve messages and it is difficult to exit the application.

internet page not showing up

;( Several weeks ago i tried using internet explorer but it didnt work. Right now i am using realone player web to go on internet. im not sure why it is not showing up. everything that needs internet works such as warcraft 3 battlenet and mmorpg's and error sending but the internet wont work.

i bout a new optorite cd-burner and tried to install it as secondary master (i have one 120GB primary master and a 52X as secondary slave on an Athlon 1400 system with 256MB ram). and ever since then my computer never stays on for more then 10 minutes.

Winamp scrambled after resolution change

When you launch a program that has a different screen resolution to your desktop, the icon and window posistions can become scrambled when you exit. Although most of my programs are well behaved a consistant offender is Winamp.

Restoring apps after explorer crash...

Any idea how to restore programs that sit in the tray (such as mIRC, as I have it configured) to restore or reappear after explorer crashes? I hate having to kill the app and restart it. . . and there is got to be a way to restore the app.

NTFS message on start-up

OK I was having some issues with my laptop the other day with certain programs (Explorer and Music apps) not responding after a few minutes of usage. Using task manager to close just gave me the END NOW message and did nothing.

Long filenames and CD burning probs!

My mum wants me to backup her work stuff to CD. However when I try and burn the stuff to CD (using Nero) it tells me that some of the file names are either longer than 255 characters (or have characters that aren't supported by the CD file system, ISO 9660) and directories are more than 8 paths deep.

personally I just make a copy of the whole folder in C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\ and copy it to my backup drive before I do a format then after I just copy the folder back and I have all my messages.

I installed then unistalled NAV. I then installed AvastAntivirus now it's telling me it can't its services because NAV is already running. I check the startup folder, services, deleted NAV folder, emptied the recycle bin and restarted.
