CHKDSK runs every bootup...already tried the common fix, no help

Hi, After burning a DVD recently, my XP machine slowed to a crawl. . . on reboot, got a blue screen and had to power down. Rebooting ran CHKDSK and had numerous error windows popping up. Ok'ed out of all and rebooted into last known good.

Windows Update and AMD processor

I was running windows update on my daughter's HP laptop and it suggested to update the AMD K7 processor software, as well as a security update. I ran both of these and restarted the computer but now have no taskbar on the bottom and cannot access any Windows pages online.

I have win2k and just run a spyware removal tool. Ad-Aware. I thought some settings may have been permanently damaged so I over installed the same OS. I still have all my original programs but now I get a message that I do not have enough memory to run certain programs.

How do I use Norton Ghost when my hard disk is dual-booted

I've got 2 hard disks hard disk 1: windows 2000 + red hat 9 (use GRUB as boot loader) hard disk 2: windows xp + unused space (enough to install one more operating system at the unused space) Is it possible for me to 'ghost' JUST the red hat 9 from disk 1 to 2?? How can I solve the problem of boot loader ??? Thank you

I recieved my first virus and loaded Symantec business to help isolate and clean it. It seemed to have worked but then I restarted and got: Stop: c000026c unable to load device driver. \systemroot\system32\drivers\symredrv.

ew, first the problem with the outlook express links. . . it was solved, now this one. I installed norton inetsecurity 2004 again, after reboot, there comes a screen on your desktop and you must click on the 'next' button.

There is no Users & Passwords type option in the Control Panel with Win2k DataCenter Server & it makes it come to this screen where I have to hit CTRL+ALT+DEL before I even login - I don't want to deal with any of that.

FYI Windows XP SP2 doesn't recognize Symantec Anti-Virus Corp. Ed. 8 as valid anti-virus software. Corp Ed. 9 is supposedly recognized. -Overworked-.

I recently installed SpyBot S&D on my system. After not being able to delete some spyware, I tried to increase the vigilance of the program by adjusting some settings. After rebooting XP, I get the login welcome screen.

actually since my last post i have got windows 2000 pro to accept internet setup wizzard but it won't accept any valid names. i have checked all my drivers and everything looks ok,i even did diagnostics on the modem and it's even ok.
