From Mozillazine.org:

Asa Dotzler writes: "After months of discussion and further months of legal investigation, we're finally comfortable moving forward with new names. The new name for the Phoenix browser is 'Firebird'. The documentation and product strings will be updated soon. In addition to securing Firebird, we've also got the OK from those contributing legal resources to use the name 'Thunderbird' for a mail client. Hopefully this will be the end of naming legal issues for a while."

The system, which has yet to be named, is technically similar to the Blu-ray Disc format that was developed by a consortium of nine companies led by Sony, although it is incompatible. The data storage technology was announced Tuesday by Sony and is on display at the AIIM storage and content management conference in New York this week.

A coalition of market forces are arrayed against your notebook at the airport: the downsizing of the airline industry and increased air travel security. Against these foes, it's tough to see how the notebook can come up a winner. Still, all computing may not be lost, if today's storage vendors will just dust off antiquated marketing plans.

MajorGeeks send words that Download.Coms new download system is using Kontiki

After uninstalling and running Ad-Aware to remove 19 items, I found that it immediately recreated a directory in Program Files and there are still 27 more registry entries. I installed this program as a test and submitted screenshots and info in the hope of saving people the trouble of installing this. This was installed by using Download.Com. You can go to any file and choose the new "Fast Download Link" as opposed to the familiar "Download Now". Heres a link to save you a click or two:

Tablet computers-machines that mimic the traditional uses of pen and paper, letting you input data by touching a stylus to a screen-have been around for decades, but they've never really caught on with the public at large. The first tablet, introduced by RAND Corp. in 1964 and later marketed by Data Equipment Co. as the Grafacon, was manufactured at a cost of $18,000 and could be used only in tandem with large mainframe systems.

Not surprisingly for an application that is intended mainly as a development platform, the Mozilla Web browser continues its seemingly constant upgrade cycle. Version 1.3 of the browser adds many useful new features, including some effective anti-spam features in the mail client.
