I just took the jump and installed those Dell NT4 USB drivers on a desktop computer with the following specs:
Asus P5A super7 Ali chipset K6-III+ 550MHz 256Mb SDRAM and Win NT4 SP6. To my amazement, the drivers installed without any problems and I then proceeded to hook a USB1 Disk on Key with a 256Mb capacity. Low and behold, it was recognized automatically and started working like a charm. No need to format or assign a drive letter. Simply fantastic.

Thank you to whoever found this jewel :):

Hello,

i found our messages and i would like to test it. But it dosn´t work. If i Install the Driver package and plug in my USB Stick i can´t see it. The USB Driver Software from DELL was loading sucessfully.

What´s wrong? In the Tray Icon in bottom of my Windows NT4.0 SP6A i show the "USB Icon" but no devices was found.

Hope anyone can help me!

I've just installed these drivers on an IBM NetVista Intel processor, NT4.0 SP6. They worked like a charm.
I was able to hook up my Minolta Dimage camera and use it like a mass storage device. A drive letter was automatically assigned.

Big thank you from me as well!

Ive got a desktop computer (unknown brand) at the office running winNT 4.0 service pack. 4; and now (with R62200.exe) it works like charm, connecting a Canyon memory stick USB 256 mb. that theorically doesn't run under win NT.

thaks to Dell to create this amazing NT generic driver

Hi,

(This driver is from www.ionetworks.com, thanks to them)

It works fine on my NT systems (this driver), BUT I am among those which can't have a letter automaticaly mounted :-((((

My NT4 + SP6 + network systems doesn't mount anything :-(
And I don't know useful software (for NT) to help me in such a situation...

If somebody knows the reason why... ;-)

Call me stupid. I've loaded these drivers and everything USB wise seems okay..... it recognises an Epson printer... but how do I configure the NT 4 Epson driver to use the USB port if it only offers conventional LPT and COM ports

I have encountered the problem with not getting a drive letter when using a memory stick or connecting a digital cam (which for the system is basically the same as a mass storage device).

The solution was simple. Make sure that you are either logged in as the administrator or that the user under which you are logged in has administrator rights (add him/her to the administrator) group. Without administrator rights the mass storage device will be visible in the disk management but not in the windows explorer. I was able to give the mass storage device a drive letter in Disk Management and could use it in the explorer from then on.

Good luck.

I had tried installing another driver without success - my computer was built from individual components and I don't know if my motherboard is UHCI or not (it's an MSI)... I tried this one and not only does it recognize my flash drive, but it didn't even ask me to reboot. :):

Kudos to Dell for writing this excellent driver!!!
