Seems to run fine on my PC. Multiplayers Coops and dogfight missions are smooth and have very few of the "freeze-frame" instances that were par for the course in the earlier "AEP" version. Usually these freezes occur in instances where there are multiple ships generating flak at the same time. If you think of the actual number of objects being rendered at one time, you will appreciate the tremendous visual effects.
Strafing or lining up for a torpedo run on an enemy vessel will generate a furious response from the attacked vessel. I now know what WW2 aviators were talking about when they recalled "walls of flak".
Water effects are substantially better. Aircraft textures seems smoother. Running at maximum settings on my ATI 9800 Pro, I average over 100 fps inflight. In severe flak situations, I'm sure the FPS drops but I have usually been to busy to spare a glance at the FPS display. The lack of a flyable 'Kate' or 'Betty' is a small disappointment but overall I'm pleased with the new aircraft offered. The Corsair can be outfitted with an incredible number of weapons packages. The Corsair is also very nimble (maybe a bit too nimble?)and has no problem dispatching any of the Japanese aircraft. The American .50 caliber weapons now seem to have a reasonable amount of punch, unlike earlier versions of IL2FB.
Overall, I'm happy to have acquired this add-on to my IL2FB. I can forsee many hours of sweaty-palmed attacks on the pride of the Imperial Japanese Navy.
