I downloaded SP2 ona practically vrigin install of WinXP Home. On re-boot after what it claimed was a sucessful installation the desktop hung and then the start bar kept appearing and disappearing forcing a hard re-boot.
I then booted in safe mode and uninstalled SP2, went and re-installed in case of error. Same thing happened.
I'm getting just a little P.O.'d with Micro$oft's release policy that's the second service pack that's FUBARed my PC (hence the reason I did it with a practically new install this time - only WinXP Home, registered drivers for hardware and SP1)

It rebooted so I could login but not after cycling the power a couple of times. I hope it didn't damage anything permanently
It's not like MS to do this. Where is SP2a
