Akasa Plato X Slim Fanless Chassis i5/i7 NUC Chassis Review

We’ve got a great change of pace for you today, as we’ve broken away from the standard motherboard form factors for something a little more compact. I am of course talking about the Intel NUC motherboards, which may be tiny, but still pack a huge range of features, high-end processors such as the i5 and i7 ranges and enough connectivity to satisfy the needs of a whole range of usage scenarios.

Akasa are the masters of integrated systems and their range of NUC products is virtually unmatched by their chassis making rivals. The model we have in today, the Plato X, is super slim and despite its completely fanless design, it has enough cooling potential to chill a 5th Gen Core i7 NUC board.

anidees AI4

We have the pleasure of reviewing the anidees AI4 today, which pretty much looks like a shrunken AI6 chassis. Unlike some other cases from the brand, the AI4 is only available in black, yet anidees has, on the other hand, done a great job in keeping the exterior look and feel while also making sure to include a good set of features.

Arozzi Torretta Review

After our first review of a gaming chair was quite a success, we're going to have a close look at another model. This particular chair is a little bit cheaper than the first one, but it should still offer decent quality and good comfort.

Corsair Gaming Scimitar RGB MOBA/MMO Gaming Mouse Review

The latest Corsair gaming headset is here at last and like many Corsair headsets we’ve seen in the past, it’s set to be a must-have, premium grade product. Corsair teamed up with the design team at BMW with the aim of creating one of the most functional and extremely comfortable headsets on the market. When you’re wearing your headset for many hours while you’re gaming, comfort is obviously an important factor, so it’s an aspect of this headset that I’m eager to test out.

The Void isn’t just about style and comfort, as Corsair has packed a lot of cool features to make this headset not only look, but also perform like a premium headset. You’ll find InfoMic & CUE control, ergonomic ear cups, RGB lighting, powerful 50mm drivers, a noise-cancelling microphone, high-end wireless technology and more!

Enermax Liqmax II 120s: AIO Cooling At Its Best

When it comes to a new build I always keep cooling in mind. Not every rig I build has custom water reservoirs, custom piping or fancy radiators. Sometimes I just need a machine to work without spending an enormous amount of cash on custom parts. I find that All in One (AIO) cooling systems are easy to install, work well … Read more.

FreshTech Solutions Stealth Gaming PC Review

FreshTech Solutions has a fantastic repertoire of custom PC builds to suit various budgets and specific requirements. In addition to pre-configured machines, the company’s flexible service allows you to customize a gaming PC from scratch and select from a huge array of industry-leading components. Each integral feature from storage to water cooling functionality is divided into easily manageable categories. However, today we are looking at a pre-configured model entitled, Stealth, which utilizes Intel’s latest mainstream architecture and a host of other top-tier hardware.

This high-end configuration contains an Intel Core i7 6700K, 16GB Corsair DDR 2666MHz RAM, Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 5 motherboard and the NVIDIA GTX 980 Ti. The core specification is accompanied by a 240GB SSD boot drive, 2TB mechanical data disk, Corsair 80 Plus Bronze 600W power supply and aesthetically-pleasing In Win 503 chassis. The company has also decided to offer a promotion and upgrade the default CPU cooler to the Corsair H80i GT for a limited time. Overall, I expect the system to excel in gaming benchmarks at commonly used resolutions and provide a superb desktop experience.

GE In-Wall Z-Wave Smart Wireless Receptacle Outlet Review

Having just reviewed the GE In-Wall Dimming Light switches, we definitely know what to expect out of these GE In-Wall products! We are hoping that the same quality construction, ease of use and durability carries over to their In-Wall outlet products. We also recently reviewed the GE Smart Switch Plug-in module which gives you a smart outlet that’s Z-Wave controlled but if you are in the market for a more custom look, then these GE In-Wall outlets are the perfect solution. Nobody will know that these outlets are part of your home automation since they look almost identical to standard receptacles.

As far as uses go for these GE In-Wall outlets, your imagination is your only limitation on what you can do or automate with them. You can turn on an appliance in the morning as you get out of bed. Perhaps you or your spouse leaves the flat iron on in the bathroom which could cause a fire risk, you could use one of these outlets to ensure its turned off after a while or when you leave your home. Maybe you are getting ready to put up holiday decorations which may include lighting for your tree? You could use a smart outlet to automate these lights and save energy.

Regardless on your uses for the in-wall outlets, its difficult not to like the custom look that these in-wall outlets give your smart home over the plug-in style Z-Wave or Zigbee outlet modules. Sure the plug-in ones have their advantages of being mobile, but in my opinion, they do look a bit ugly when you compare them to the in-wall alternative. So let’s see if the GE In-Wall outlet provides us all of the benefits of their plug-in outlet modules!

How to Find Out Which Version of Windows 10 You Have

When youre running Windows 10, whether with the Insider Preview program or with a retail copy, it can be difficult to find out exactly which build version youre actually running. It is possible, though. You just have to know where to look. Why would you ever need to know? Mainly for troubleshooting. If youre having an issue with a PC, knowing the active build number of Windows 10 could mean the difference between solving your issue and not. As far as finding the build number, there are two common methods. The first one is quite simple.

MSI X99A SLI Plus Motherboard Review

With Skylake chips still selling through retailers for a significantly greater price than Intel may have intended, the HEDT X99 platform quickly becomes an even more appealing option to power users. The six-core Haswell-E 5820K is faster than Skylake’s flagship 6700K and is available for around £40 less. The next critical item in a similarly-priced Haswell-E vs Skylake build is a cost-effective X99 motherboard. Enter MSI’s X99A SLI Plus.

Mushkin Blackline DDR4-2800 8GB Memory Kit Review

For the longest time Mushkin was a company that was leading the game when it came to computer memory. When they released a new kit it was what everyone was talking about and most people I knew had Mushkin memory. I am not sure what happened but Mushkin was not talked about as much and many people I knew moved on to other brands for their computer memory. Well Mushkin wants you to think about them again when it comes to computer memory and today we have their latest DDR4 Blackline memory on the review block today! Today we are taking a look at the 997207T kit which is an 8GB (2x4GB) kit that runs at 2800 MHz with timings of 16-16-16-36 at 1.2V. Did I mention this kit has a pretty nifty heatspreader as well? Reeven Hans RC-1205 Review

OCC reviewed the Hans RC-1205 (and the Justice RC-1204) last year, so when I see that a couple of Reeven coolers showed up I thought they looked familiar. Same name? Same part number? What is going on? It is not unusual for a manufacturer to update a product to either freshen it up aesthetically or add some new features to keep it relevant. However, these changes are usually accompanied with a reason on the packaging, something like "new and improved" or Version 2.0. That is not the case with these coolers as there is no indication of a previous edition. I made a quick visit to the website and saw that there is also an RC-1205(n) version which has exposed copper heatpipes and that is the model I reviewed last year. It will be interesting to see what all has changed. This review covers the Hans RC-1205 and the Justice RC-1204 will be covered in a separate review.

Reeven is somewhat of a newcomer to the computer component world, having formed in 2009. Since my initial review last year, Reeven has added several coolers, three cases, one new fan, and two fan controllers to its lineup - so things at Reeven seem to be busy. From the Reeven website: "REEVEN is a newly established international manufacturer of PC related products. REEVEN's product lines includes the best quality of advanced CPU coolers, Cooling Fans, Power Supply Units, PC Cases and many other items. the target of our products will be a wide range of audience under our philosophy 'Professional Quality Gears', for products that will withstand the highest demand."
