The Tech Zone has posted a comparsion of the 3D Prophet 32MB vs. the 3D Prophet II 64MB.

I´ve been getting many emails asking if the extra 32 Megs of DDR RAM really makes a difference in performance in the new GeForce2. And more importantly, if it does make a difference, is this difference worth the nearly $100 extra you have to pay for the 64 Meg card? To find out, I took both recently reviewed Hercules Prophet II and put them head to head in some Quake 3 benchmarks. However, I later decided to sub the 32 Meg Prophet for an Elsa Gladiac. The reason for this was to even out the playing field.

The problem came about when I found out the 64 Meg 3D Prophet runs at a speed higher than what nVidia recommends. nVidia calls for GeForce2 cards to run at 200Mhz core and 333Mhz memory. The 64 Meg 3D Prophet II came with a stock setting of 220Mhz core and 360Mhz memory. This puts it at an advantage over the 32 Meg 3D Prophet II which runs at the nVidia recommended speed.
