PCinsight has posted a review on the 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 AGP graphics card.

During 3D operation, each scene (or single frame) can be divided into 128 horizontal "strips" and each VSA-100 chip is responsible for processing a definable (by the drivers) number of strips. As two VSA-100 chips are present on the Voodoo5 5500, each chip will be assigned to process only half the "strips" while the other chip processes the other half. By working together, the effective time to render a scene is vurtually cut in half.
