5 notable features which are being stripped out of Windows 10

Windows 10 is right around the corner and more information about what the latest offering from Microsoft is going to look like, and how it's going to work, appears every day. The new operating system is going to be free for those with Windows 7 and 8, and comes with a redesign based around user input that places far more emphasis on the users that Microsoft left behind with Windows 8, namely those with a keyboard and a mouse. The news isn't all good, however. In an effort to streamline the OS, Microsoft has chosen to remove some features and this could upset some folks. Of course, Windows 10 is a free upgrade and allows the vast majority of Microsoft's enormous customer base to run the latest operating system, so there are going to be some people who are angry. Many of the changes are designed to bring everybody onto the same page, especially in terms of design. Windows 10 iterates upon the design of Windows 8, adding elements of Windows 7, and Microsoft aims to make this experience as smooth as possible. So which important features haven't made the cut with Windows 10? Read on and find out…

AeroCool GT-A Black Edition Midi Tower Review

No matter what we say one of the most difficult tasks consumers have when building a new system is to find the ideal PC case to cover their needs not just in terms of aesthetics (design) but also in required space (size), quality and available features. Now as we all know for good or bad the market is currently overflowing with a huge number of PC cases both by the leading and really popular manufacturers and others either less popular or even brand new in the field. That basically means that the chances of finding a feature unique to a single PC case are slim to none so the best one can hope for is to find one packing as many features as possible that also agrees with him/her in terms of size and design. Aerocool may not be amongst the top manufacturers in the market but they have released a large number of impressive products over the years and today we're taking a look at the GT-A Black Edition Midi Tower.

AeroCool Advanced Technologies (AAT) was founded in 2001. At the earlier stage of operation we were committed to share our technical expertise and innovative design in providing total-solution for thermal management in industrial and personal computers. Aerocool is one of the market leaders in the "Gaming Market". Our strong brand and product image are well received by gamers and enthusiasts world-wide. We offer a full line of performance products including gaming cases, gaming PSUs, gaming mouse, gaming headsets, gaming keyboard, gaming headsets, Multi-functional panels and fans. Aerocool will continue to innovate and deliver the best user experience to gamers world-wide.

Last time we had something here by Aerocool it was the Xpredator X3 Devil Red Edition Midi Tower which featured a nice black/red color combination and although the GT-A Black Edition doesn't bring as much red in the equation still it's not completely black. This time over however in order to cut down costs Aerocool has placed a top hot-swap 3.5/2.5" docking station, three 5.25" optical drive bays, three 3.5/2.5" HDD trays, three 2.5" HDD trays, room for up to 5 fans and/or one top 240mm radiator, enough space for graphics cards up to 310mm long and CPU coolers up to 165mm, two fan controllers and 7 PCI expansion slots. Still even though the GT-A Black Edition is not the top PC case currently offered by Aerocool it does offer a good number of features so let's take a closer look and see how they are implemented.

Welcome to another Case Mod Friday showcase! This week we have Adamski07's “Project Prodigious” build. Here is what he had to say about it, "Welcome to "FREESTYLE MODDING!" A mod of case where nothing is planned. Just mod and be surprised! Theme? Nothing actually. Just another Prodigy Build. Will paint the case and add some awesome exterior works. Gigabyte Brix GB-BXA8-5557

In the past I have taken a look at a nice variety of small form factor PCs. Out of all of them I was most impressed with the NUC. Not only did it have the smallest form factor, but it also performed extremely well. It really opened up my eyes to the possibility that only gamers and enthusiasts will be sporting full or mid-sized PCs in the future. We already see a lot of people moving to just using a laptop or even a tablet. So beyond the NUC I was really curious about other NUC like PCs like the Brix from Gigabyte. Well today I have the chance to check out the Brix GB-BXA8-5557, an AMD based PC that has a similar footprint to Intel’s NUC. Let’s see what it is all about and find out if it can hold its own in the performance benchmarks compared to the others.

Kingston HyperX Savage 240GB Solid State Drive Review

There have been a lot of PCIe, M.2 and new generation NVMe drives in the news lately and we’ve also tested some of them already, but the go-to standard for most people will still be the default SATA III connection for a while. Today I’m taking a closer look at such a drive and it’s a beauty at the same time, the brand new Kingston HyperX Savage SSD with 240GB capacity.

HyperX is Kingston’s gaming and high-end division and there is no doubt about that when opening up for this drive. It is presented in all its glory right away. The design looks great with the overall design resembling the X in HyperX. The red and white theme will also make it fit great with most gaming equipment as a lot of that carries the same

Razer Seiren Elite USB Digital Microphone Review

Thanks to the three 14mm condenser capsules, Seiren can function in four different modes: cardioid, stereo, omnidirectional or bidirectional, in order to accommodate different recording environments. Even if you do not use it in a professional environment, it should bring a lot of benefit to people which record streams daily/weekly thanks to the added clarity but also to the ones which talk a lot on Skype or any other audio/video conference programs. Talking again about non-professional scene, the device is really easy to set up and should not need any extra skills given you read the supplied manual and install Synapse software in a matter of minutes.
