THE HEAD OF Windows development said Thursday that Microsoft was convinced that a copy of Whistler, the next-generation version of consumer Windows, had been posted to the Internet for download, as reported earlier this week.
On Wednesday, Jim Allchin, group vice president of Microsoft´s Platforms Group, disputed reports that an early, internal build of Whistler had been posted on "various college and Internet sites."
