AMD 7th Gen Bristol Ridge and AM4 Analysis: Up to A12-9800, B350/A320 Chipset, OEMs first, PIBs Later

Over the last two weeks, AMD officially launched their 7th Generation Bristol Ridge processors as well as the new AM4 socket and related chipsets. The launch was somewhat muted, as the target for the initial launch is purely to the big system OEMs and system integrators, such as Lenovo, HP, Dell and others – for users wanting to build their own systems, ‘Product-in-Box’ units (called PIBs) for self-build systems will come at the end of the year. We held off on the announcement because the launch and briefings left a number of questions unanswered as to the potential matrix of configurations, specifications of the hardware and how it all connects together. We got a number of answers, so let’s delve in.

Asustor AS3104T 4-bay NAS Review

The AS3104T is the bigger sibling of the 2-bay AS3102T we reviewed recently. With four bays and a dual-core Celeron processor, the AS3104T is marketed by Asustor as an “all-around multimedia entertainment storage solution” and like the AS3102T it forms part of Asustor’s Personal to Home product line.

Case Mod Friday: HYPERCUBE

Welcome to another Case Mod Friday showcase! This week we have Mike Petereyns' "HYPERCUBE" build. Here is what he had to say about it, "As you know modding is a big passion of me so I was realy exited that I was invited to this Intel NUC challenge. It’s realy sommething I never did before modding on this scale but I like the challenge of it. I always try to make something original with function, thermal heat dissipation and minimal design in mind. Therefore I made the decision to mod the NUC into a “HYPERCUBE” design…I think not only does the name fits well, but the total concept of a NUC inside a Hypercube kinda highlights the Power of the NUC without making it to big."

Forza Horizon 3 is as fun as it is beautiful

I have to admit that, even though I appreciate what Forza is and how important the franchise is to Xbox, I’ve never fully played a single game. One of the reasons is that my smaller friends list is rarely populated by Forza players but, more importantly, I’ve never been patient enough to get good at any of the games and see them through to the end. That’s not a knock on Forza so much as it is a testament to my laziness when it comes to digging into games outside of my comfort zone, and Forza is outside of my comfort zone. Perhaps that’s why Forza Horizon 3 is the perfect racing game for me.

Having played bits and pieces of a few different Forza games, most recently the Fast and the Furious mod that stemmed off of Forza Horizon 2, I know exactly what I’m getting into when I fire up Playground Games' latest racing title. I expect gorgeous and exotic cars and variable terrain with a gated liberty in how I shape some big racing event that is going on around me. While Forza Horizon 3 is exactly that, it’s also so much more.

GIGABYTE GTX 1060, 1070 & 1080 G1 Gaming Review

HyperX Cloud Revolver Gaming Headset

Jabra ECLIPSE Wireless Headset Review

One of the things i hate while driving is to see other people using one hand to drive their cars or bikes and the other to answer and hold their smartphones close to their ears. As a matter of fact I’ve lost count of the how many times i had to evade cars and bikes coming right towards me just because the driver was paying more attention to his/her call and not what was happening around. Of course as many of you are aware the law in most countries forbids use of smartphones while driving and strictly dictates that people need to use hands-free devices such as wireless Bluetooth headsets to avoid getting distracted. Such headsets may not have improved enormously over the past few years but they've become smaller while at the same time retaining all their features and audio quality. The ECLIPSE by Jabra is their latest entry in the hands-free wireless headset and it will be the subject of today’s review.

Monster Fatal1ty FxM 200 Headset

Not everyone who plays games is into e-sports, but there is a large following for e-sports in general, especially a few of the most popular games. Payouts are in the millions of dollars and players are starting to become household names. None of today's players though have found the universal success that Fata1ty has. Fatal1ty paved the way for today's players, won twelve world championship titles, was profiled on MTV’s True Life TV show, and he created his own brand of products. Thorin did a great video covering it all earlier this year. Johnathan Wendel managed to transition huge success across multiple games into a brand. Over the years we have seen a wide variety of products including motherboards, ram, PSUs, and headsets. I actually think a lot of today's gamer crowd may even know him more as that brand than anything else. The reason for the history lesson today is because this past CES Fatal1ty and Monster announced a partnership to bring out new headsets and for a while now I’ve actually had the new Fatal1ty FxM 200 here in the office to test out. So today I’m going to take a closer look at it and see how it performed.
