ASUS ROG Maximus XI Formula Intel Z390 Motherboard Review

Part of the ROG (Republic of Gamers) product line from ASUS, the Maximus XI Formula is a high-end Intel Z390 motherboard option that combines support for the latest Intel processors with a host of premium features.

ASUS used the Intel Z390 chipset launch to enhance the existing design of their Maximus Formula board, reconfiguring the board layout with dual NICs, a GigE NIC and a 5G NIC, and moved the location of the integrated M.2 slots for better access and cooling. Further, they enhanced the design of the armor overlay to integrate RGB LED effects into its surface.

Microsoft HoloLens 2 is still not a consumer device

At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Technical Fellow Alex Kipman (best title ever for a fellow who has a tech-related job) mounted the stage to announce that after four years, Microsoft had a successor to the HoloLens. HoloLens 2 is here, and it's less of a consumer device than ever. That's not a bad thing.   Next-gen improvements include a flip-up visor, lighter weight, more centered balance, and a new fit system that purports to make wearing the headset for long periods of time more comfortable. On the more technical front, the new version has double the field of view of the original, a new time-of-flight sensor, and new eye-tracking sensors.

Phanteks P600S Mid-Tower Chassis Review

Phanteks are one of the most loved chassis brands out there. We think they’ve created some of the finest PC cases on the market today! However, some of them are a few years old now, such as the fantastic Enthoo Luxe Elite, and the tremendous Enthoo Evolv ATX. However, their P-series has gone from affordable to fantastic over the years, and the new P600S looks set to be the king of the range.

We first saw this chassis at CES 2019, and we were pretty impressed with what we saw there. However, opinions can change when you get one home, so I’m eager to bust this box open and take a much closer look at what Phanteks have to offer. Of course, I’m still fairly confident that they can deliver.

Viotek GN34C 34-inch Curved 1440p Ultrawide Monitor Review

In the realm of monitors ultra-wide displays a really popular for many reasons. For me an ultra-wide eliminates the need for more than one display. Basically I can have two windows open on the same display and it is just like having two separate monitors. Playing games on an ultra-wide is also very enjoyable as it feels much more immersive than a 16:9 display. Finally if you are a creator or visual artist having more screen real estate is a huge plus. I love stretching out the timeline in Adobe Premier across my entire screen!
