AMD confirms Naples Zen server for Q2

It looks like 2017 might be a good year for AMD as the company plans to fill its void in the desktop, server and even the notebook market. Ryzen is an eight core CPU clocked at 3.4GHz or higher - it is the first one and AMD told us to expect it in Q1 2017.
The more interesting part is codenamed Naples and Fudzilla exclusively posted the news about this,  including a diagram.
Since AMD said that Ryzen has 20MB of total cache it is easy to work out that there are eight cores each with 512KB L2 cache and 16GB of L3 cache. We posted these details a few months ago. This means that Summit Ridge and an eight core Snowy Owl server will be based on the same core.
AMD has two separate codenames in the server market, Snowy Owl for 8 and 16 core server chip while Naples is reserved for 24 and 32 core versions. They are all based on Zeppelin blocks of eight Zen cores Fudzilla mentioned earlier this year. The information we gathered lists 16 core, 24 core and 32 core version of Naples server architecture core too. Obviously an eight-core version of Naples shares the DNA of Summit Ridge. The obvious reason is that the desktop version uses the AM4 socket while the server versions will use the SP3 and SP4 sockets.

Creative iRoar Go Portable Speaker Review

The Creative Labs Roar series of speakers is a story the redefines what a portable speaker system can be. In 2014 Creative Labs announced their first portable speaker simply called Roar. This tiny speaker system featured a wide variety of features including Bluetooth and NFC connectivity, 5 drivers powered by two amplifiers and a high capacity battery. In terms of price and features it was easily the most powerful portable speaker on the market.

2015 saw the release of the Roar 2 and Roar Pro. Both of these devices built on the success of the Roar by adding more features more options and a better overall experience.

Earlier this year we reviewed the Creative Labs iRoar which is not only the most expensive Roar based speaker but also one of the most advanced allowing devices to be linked together to create MegaStereo and even has an optional subwoofer accessory called the iRoar Rock. Given the size and cost the iRoar we reviewed was better served as an in-home audio device over a portable speaker system which moves us away from a practical portable speaker system.

XFX RX 480 XXX GTR Review

From a performance standpoint, the XFX RX 480 XXX GTR performs where its clock speeds dictate when comparing to the other Polaris GPUs I have tested. That puts the performance window right around the R9 390 and in some cases besting the GTX 1060. So what does that equate to in terms of FPS performance? It gets you between 45 and 90 FPS at a resolution of 1920x1080, depending on the game played. Cranking up the resolution to 2560x1440, the FPS levels drop a bit, but essentially you can play all the games in my comparison at up to 2560x1440 and really enjoy the experience. Overclocking helps improve the FPS levels delivered if you spend the time to tune the performance of the card. XFX did its homework and built this card to maintain the core clock speeds set in the card's BIOS so you do not see performance drops as the card heats up and starts pulling a more significant bit of power from the wall. By using the company's True Clock technology — a hardware clock speed optimizer instead of a software optimizer — you get the performance you pay for at all times. XFX's all-digital power supply circuitry with ultra low-noise inductors cooled by the all-new heat pipe equipped cooling solution definitely help drive the performance and stability of this card. Overclocking was not as robust as the other RX 480 cards I have looked at, but this card does hold its own with a better-than-average overclock.
