Hi Tech Legion takes a look at AMD Fusion
AMD's Fusion technology aims to solve both the need for ultra low power consumption and muscular computing mobile systems. The current IGP-based platforms are just simply not efficient enough to deliver the graphics performance and battery life that modern mobile computing requires. Please read HiTechLegion's previous articles on Fusion for a more detailed look on this technology. The first two of AMD's Fusion APUs are designed for the notebook and Netbook markets. "Zacate" is an 18W mainstream APU primarily designed for notebook and all-in-one desktop use. AMD will also have the 9W "Ontario" APU that can deliver HD graphics to netbooks and other small-form factor computing solutions. Ontario is projected to outperform all current netbook's graphics performance by as much as 10 times.AMD Fusion - The Future in APUs
