Futurelooks: AMD’s NEW “Vishera” FX-8350 8-Core AM3+ CPU Reviewed
We have all seen a glimpse into what the new AMD Piledriver architecture is capable of with our recent review of the Virgo Platform and Trinity APUs. This time around the graphics processor is out and the massive shared L3 cache is in as the only area not improved upon in this latest revision. Vishera is AMD’s proving ground to make or break their new approach to CPU design. After having some time with the new flagship processor, the FX-8350, I’ve learned some things about this new processor. I know you want to know if AMD is taking the right path so let’s get right to it!Read more
Hardware Secrets: FX-8350 vs. Core i5-3470 CPU Review
Today, AMD is releasing its second-generation of FX CPUs, dubbed "Vishera." The FX-8350 is currently the highest-end model available, running at 4 GHz and costing USD 195. Let's see how it fares against its main competitor, the Core i5-3470 (3.2 GHz, USD 200). We also included in our comparison the AMD CPU that used to be the highest-end model, the FX-8150 (3.6 GHz, USD 190 currently, USD 280 at its release), and what was then its main competitor, the Core i5-2500K (3.3 GHz, USD 220). For curiosity sake, we also added to the comparison the Phenom II X6 1100T (3.3 GHz, USD 190 when it was sold), which used to be AMD's fastest CPU before the release of the FX family.Read more
KitGuru: AMD FX8350 BE / Gigabyte HD7970 / ASUS Sabretooth 990FX R2 Review
In October last year AMD released the FX8150 Black Edition 8 Core processor which met with a mixed reception. While the chip delivered good performance, it was priced too high and couldn't compete against equivalent Intel processors.Read more
Today we are looking at the latest AMD Black Edition, the FX8350, which as the name suggests, is unlocked for the overclocking audience. The default frequency is 4ghz, 400mhz quicker than the FX8150. Is it a good value for money proposition as 2012 comes to a close?
OCC: AMD Vishera FX-8350 Review
Overclocking the FX-8350 was as easy as overclocking gets. I chose the "Ultra High" setting in the BIOS for the Load Line Control of the Gigabyte UD7, turned off Turbo Core and all energy management features (C1, Cool 'N' Quiet, C6 support etc), and I simply kept raising the unlocked multiplier of the FX-8350 with intermittent stress testing and voltage changes. It is apparent that CPUID needs an update for the Vishera line as the voltage did not match the BIOS readings. I ended up at 5200MHz at 1.520. Temperatures stayed in check throughout never getting above 65 °C according to HW monitor. For those of you who are not comfortable in the BIOS or would like to try out setting before committing to them, AMD has a brand new AOD version 4.2.3 for you to take advantage of or you can simply let AMD Turbo Core do it for you.Read more

Can AMD learn from their mistakes and offer more performance while keeping the price affordable with the new FX-8350?Read more
HotHardware.com: AMD FX-8350 Vishera 8-Core CPU Review
Even before AMD officially released its Bulldozer-based FX-Series of desktop processors last year, the company was already talking about the follow-on microarchitecture codenamed "Piledriver". In fact, in the conclusion of our launch article featuring the AMD FX-8150, we posted an AMD-provided slide that showed Piledriver was already on-deck and that it would offer IPC and power improvements over existing architectures, which would result in roughly a 10% to 15% uplift in performance.Read more
We have already shown you what Piledriver could do in mainstream APUs in our coverage of the desktop AMD A10 and A8-Series of products and the mobile A10-4600M, but today AMD is finally refreshing its higher-end desktop CPU line-up, which hasn't seen a new product launch for just over a year. The updated AMD FX-Series of desktop processors featuring the Piledriver microarchitecture was codenamed "Vishera" and we've had the flagship variant, the new FX-8350, in the lab for a couple of weeks now...
Hi Tech Legion: AMD FX-8350 Unlocked "Vishera" Octal Core CPU Review
The 2nd generation AMD FX processors utilize the new "Piledriver" cores introduced first on the "Trinity" APUs, improving upon the previous generation "Bulldozer" design. The 4GHz FX-8350 sits at the top of this new lineup and is fully compatible with 900-series AM3+ motherboards. The new Piledriver design is aimed to address the criticisms levied against Bulldozer and improve upon the original design. Similar to previous Bulldozer FX processors, the 2nd generation FX lineup will be completely overclocker friendly with unlocked multipliers. While this is all good news, the most exciting part about the new "Vishera" FX processors is their price. The top of the line FX-8350 for example has an introductory price of just $195, making it very competitive compared to previous generation FX processors as well as the competition's more expensive processor offerings.Read more
Benchmark Reviews: AMD FX-8350 Vishera Desktop Processor
AMD introduced its new FX-series processors almost exactly a year ago, and AMD enthusiasts hoped these Zambezi CPUs, built on AMD's new Bulldozer architecture, would provide real competition to Intel's Sandy Bridge line. But although the FX-8150 had eight integer cores and was capable of high clock speeds, its high price and poor performance at the individual core level meant that it wasn't very competitive with the equivalent Intel CPUs. Now we have the AMD FX-8350 CPU, code-named Vishera and based on the Piledriver architecture to test. Has AMD managed to reduce the performance deficit relative to Intel? Let's find out.Read more
Hardcoreware: AMD Piledriver FX Review - FX 8350, 8320, 6300 vs Intel Core i5 and i3

PC Perspective: AMD FX-8350 and FX-6300 Processor Review: Vishera Breaks Cover
Engineers looking for work are a dime a dozen, and Intel can hire as many as they need. So, instead of respinning Bulldozer ad nauseum and releasing new speed grades throughout the year by tweaking the process and metal layer design, AMD let the product line sit and stagnate at the top end for a year (though they did release higher TDP models based on the dual module FX-4000 and triple module FX-6000 series). Engineers were pushed into more forward looking projects. One of these is Vishera.Read more
HardwareHeaven: AMD FX-8350 Processor Review
