AMD Radeon HD 7790 2GB review: does another 1GB make a difference? @ Hardware.Info

Late March AMD introduced the Radeon HD 7790, and a week later Nvidia answered with the GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost. We compared to the two cards, but it wasn't really a fair comparison since the first Radeon HD 7790 cards came with only 1 GB of video memory, while the GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost has 2 GB. That influenced both price and performance.

Sapphire now sent us a Radeon HD 7790 with 2GB of video RAM, the Sapphire Radeon HD 7790 OC 2GB. With an average price of £139 or € 164 it costs almost exactly the same as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost cards with 2 GB. It's a much fairer comparison, in other words. Casio G-SHOCK GA-110-1AER Watch @ NikKTech

Seagate Desktop HDD.15 4TB vs WD Black 4TB Hard Drive Review @ Legit Reviews

A 4TB hard drive offers a ton of storage space and is rather affordable ($180-$300) despite the fact that only HGST, Seagate and Western Digital (WD) make 4TB drives. We managed to get our hands on 4TB drives from WD and Seagate and will be comparing them against each other to see which has the best bang for the buck. The WD Black and Seagate Desktop HDD.15 are both 4TB drives with 64MB of cache, but we are going to put them to the test to see which one is right for you.

The WD Black and Seagate Desktop HDD.15 are both 4TB drives with 64MB of cache, but they differ internally on how they reach this large capacity. WD uses five 800GB platters and Seagate uses four 1TB platters to reach 4TB. Seagate informed us that the new 1TB per platter design significantly increases the hard drive's performance over the competition. It also consumes 35 percent less power than comparable drives on the market with 4TB capacities, so this will be an interesting matchup...

MSI Radeon HD 7790 OC Edition: Mid-Range Graphics Performance @ HotHardware

Just before the mid-range AMD Radeon HD 7790 hit store shelves in early April, NVIDIA countered with the GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST. NVIDIA's move also involved pricing changes that were good for mid-range card shoppers, but what matters most is that the card NVIDIA managed to launch coincident with the Radeon HD 7790's launch, offers better performance in most of our benchmarks. With the dust settling, all that's left now is for the factory-overclocked cards to battle it out.

Asus and Sapphire have already taken a crack with their overclocked Radeon HD 7790s. Those cards definitely out-perform the stock-clocked Radeon HD 7790 we tested in March, but couldn't always overcome the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST.

MSI GTX 650 Ti Boost TwinFrozr Gaming 2 GB @ techPowerUp

MSI's GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost Gaming uses the company's famous TwinFrozr dual-fan cooler. In our testing we see fantastic noise levels that make the card almost inaudible even with heavy gaming. Gelid Black Edition CPU cooler review @ Hardware.Info

We primarily know Gelid from their popular Tranquilo Rev. 2 cooler, an affordable yet very silent and effective CPU cooler. It's one of the best coolers you can get in terms of value for your money. We were therefore quite eager to test Gelid's new cooler, called the Black Edition. It's positioned a bit higher, with an average price of £51 or € 50. It will be interesting to see whether it can compete in this segment.

The Black Edition, which isn't actually black for the most part, is a tower cooler consisting of two heatsinks. In between them is a 12cm fan, and on the front is a second fan. There's room for an optional third one too.

XFX Radeon HD 7790 Black Edition Overclocked 2GB @ Hexus

It is HEXUS' belief that the Radeon HD 7790 'Bonaire' GPU, launched six weeks ago, has largely failed to make a much-needed impression on the £100-£150 graphics card market. The primary reason for this, in our opinion, is the similar pricing of faster GPUs such as the Radeon HD 7850 and GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost.

We've seen a number of Radeon HD 7790s pass through the labs, overclocked by varying degrees, and all have been equipped with a 1GB framebuffer. This makes sense as the mid-range settings the GPU is ideally suited to rarely require memory footprints larger than 1GB.

But with product differentiation firmly in mind and with the enticement of a double-sized framebuffer, XFX is releasing a Black Edition Overclocked HD 7790 kitted out with 2GB of memory.
