ThinkComputers: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Processor Review
AMD’s Ryzen 5000 Series is officially launching today! If you haven’t already seen our review of the Ryzen 9 5900X be sure to check it out! In this review we will be taking a look at the mid-range Ryzen 5 5600X. This chip is really exciting to me as it is effectively replacing the Ryzen 3 3600X which was an excellent mid-range processor and one that I recommended to many people. The Ryzen 5 5600X is a 6-core, 12-thread processor with a base clock of 3.7 GHz and boost clock of 4.6 GHz. AMD is calling this processor the definitive choice for gamers who just want to game and at $299 we’ll see if it makes a good argument for that!

Eurogamer: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 7 5800X review: eliminating Intel's gaming advantage
AMD has been on a long road to redemption. Back in the day, I remember sporting some of their classics, such as the 955 Black Edition. A beastly overclocking CPU that was a big slap in the face to many Intel rivals. Well, AMD has been fighting fit against Intel for a few years now and with every launch, they’ve been setting new records for multi-core performance, while being pretty competitive with single-core performance and gaming at a lower price… often a LOT lower price. Now AMD is ready to take it to the next level, improve gaming performance, and improve single-core performance, but have they done it?

The Ryzen 9 5900X dominates Intel's Core i9-10900K in our testing, thanks to AMD's massive IPC improvements. At $550, this processor is certainly not cheap, but it offers so much more performance, especially single-threaded, that AMD has a clear winner on their hands.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X is built using just one CCD, which eliminates a lot of latencies and bottlencks in the multi-core topology. Phoronix: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X + Ryzen 9 5950X On Linux
The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 9 5950X are hands-down incredible winners. While processor company marketing claims are sometimes dubious and not necessarily relevant to Linux users and their open-source workloads/software, after testing the Ryzen 9 5900X and 5950X the past several weeks the performance has been incredibly compelling with significant single and multi-threaded performance uplift over Zen 2 and easily thrashing Intel's current desktop offerings with over 200 benchmarks conducted for launch-day.
