AMD Ryzen 7 Performance On Windows 10, Windows Server 2016, Six Linux Distributions

Our latest Windows vs. Linux benchmarking interest has been seeing how the AMD Ryzen 7 performance compares with the latest operating systems / Linux distributions. We have recently posted some Windows 10 vs. Windows WSL vs. Windows Linux benchmarks, relative Spectre/Meltdown mitigation impact tests on Windows vs. Linux, and other benchmarks but has mostly been done with Intel or server hardware. For those curious, today's tests were done with an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 platform.

Antec HCG 850W Gold Modular Power Supply Review

It’s no secret that Antec has been on the market for a long time now. I think my first ever self-built PC was with an Antec chassis and PSU, and that certainly was more than a “few” years ago. They’ve got a strong reputation for high-quality power supplies too, and their first High Current Gamer units were practically forged from Kryptonite, as they could withstand some serious abuse over the years.

With that in mind, I’m sure excited to see what their new HCG unit is capable of. It’s not looking to reinvent the wheel with 850W of power and 80 Plus Gold efficiency. However, that’s way above what most system builders will ever need. A modern dual-GPU system with an overclocked CPU can peak around 600W after all.

CentOS 7.4 upgrade - Still got it

Will it boot? Well, obviously, I kind of disclosed that in the title, didn't I? Hands-on with the new Cortana Show Me app for Windows 10

Microsoft is further extending the "walkthrough" side of its Cortana virtual assistant with a new Show Me app that lets Cortana walk you through common Windows tasks.

Microsoft released a new app that walks users through several common Windows tasks that your average Joe or Jane may not know or be comfortable with doing. Just like the Windows 10 out of box experience, this new tutorial app is driven by Cortana and features step-by-step guides that are easy to follow.

Honor View10 Review

The new View10 is the latest flagship phone to come from Huawei's Honor brand, containing a Kirin 970 chipset, 6GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. In fact, it's similar in terms of specs to Huawei's Mate 10 Pro, except that device is $300 more expensive.

With that in mind, we can see that the Honor View10 brings a lot of value to the table. It's nothing short of a premium device, in a sleek aluminum unibody, with dual cameras and high-end specs; however, it only costs $499.

MSI B360M Mortar Micro-ATX Motherboard Review

The more affordable Intel motherboards are here at last, with the release of H370 and the B360 series. While they don’t offer the overclocking features found on the more expensive Z370 series, they still pack a huge amount of features. For those running a non-overclocking Intel CPU, they could be the best value for money available to you right now.

The B360M comes equipped with a mATX form factor. However, it still packs in many of the features we’ve come to expect from the more expensive Z370 motherboards from MSI. This includes dual M.2 mounts with support for NVMe and Optane. You’ll find Tubo USB 2.1, DDR4 Boost, Gaming LAN, and premium audio hardware.

WD Black NVMe and SanDisk Extreme PRO M.2 NVMe 3D 1TB SSD Review

While Western Digital has a huge history with spinning disks, their experience with SSDs has been touch and go. They expanded further into the HDD arena with their very long merging process with HGST, but they have only really dabbled in the solid-state arena. Their earliest attempt was with the Black2 back in 2013, which was a novel concept that never really caught mainstream fame. WD acquired SanDisk a few years back, but they were better known for SD cards and OEM SATA SSDs. More recently we began seeing WD test the waters with PCIe / NVMe parts, with a WD Black and Blue launching at CES 2017. Those were 'ok', but were more of a budget SSD than a powerhouse class-leading product worthy of the Black moniker. Today we see WD take another stab at a WD Black NVMe SSD.
