Hardware Busters: Sabrent Rocket V90 SD UHS-II Memory Card Review - Speed Demon!
I have reviewed Sabrent’s V60 memory card with 1TB capacity, which left an excellent impression on me. After the review was posted, Sabrent offered me the even faster V90, and I couldn’t refuse this offer, of course. The V90 line has four members with capacities ranging from 64GB to 512GB. The last, which I will review, costs 450 dollars, which looks insane for a memory card, but if you need top write and read speeds, you will have to pay the price. People with expensive cameras that offer the capability for 8K video recording, besides high capacities, also need high speeds to avoid drop frames. You don’t need anything special to save plain photos or record low-bitrate videos, but this is not true for demanding recordings. In high-end cameras, CFexpress is preferred over SD cards, with CFExpress A hitting up to 1000 MB/s and CFExpress B up to 2000 MB/s. To give you an idea of the speed difference, the UHS-II SD cards top at 312MB/s. The major selling point of UHS-II SD cards is that they are much more affordable than CFExpress cards. The Sony 640GB, CFexpress Type A, costs $1,048 at bhphotovideo!
