Absolver Review

Is Absolver a game to recommend? Yes, I think it is, but for now you need to be the kind of gamer it is targeting, which is one that enjoys being precise. Offline mode may help some imprecise players (more like myself) but otherwise, you may want to wait for a sale. I also do want to mention that I have been playing using keyboard and mouse. I did connect my Dual Shock 4 as it has very well designed buttons, but found it more comfortable to remain on KB/M.

ADATA XPG SPECTRIX D40 DDR4 RGB Memory

ADATA brings to market yet another set of RGB DDR4 sticks with their ADATA SPECTRIX D40 RGB memory, and we take them for a spin on Intel's X299 platform. With ASUS AURA SYNC compatibility, these sticks have a fresh look right out of the box, yet with a default 2666 JEDEC profile, these are a perfect match for all of Intel's latest CPUs, especially the HEDT ones.

AMDs Ryzen 5 2500U APU reviewed

Ever since their arrival in March of this year, AMD's Ryzen desktop CPUs have proven themselves compelling alternatives to Intel's chips at nearly every common price point. Ryzen CPUs generally bring more cores and threads to the table than equivalently-priced Intel CPUs, and recent sales have made it easier than ever to get gobs of multithreaded computing power for less.

Intel's latest Coffee Lake CPUs have closed the multithreaded performance gap in much of our testing, but the company's continued insistence on careful feature segmentation and the spotty availability of Coffee Lake parts in general has made the blue team's next-gen broadside less damaging to the resurgent AMD than one might expect so far.

AMD's renewed competitiveness in the enthusiast desktop is a border skirmish compared to the war it's getting ready to wage in the mobile-CPU marketplace. Most PCs sold these days are laptops of some kind, and AMD's Ryzen Mobile chips are its latest in a long line of "accelerated processing units": CPU cores with a powerful on-die Radeon graphics processor. For the first time since the advent of the APU, AMD has both competitive CPU cores and a cutting-edge graphics-processing unit that it can bring together. With four Zen CPU cores and eight threads, plus as many as 640 Radeon Vega compute units, the Ryzen 5 2500U and Ryzen 7 2700U stuff a ton of potential computing horsepower into their 15W TDPs.

Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-4000 16GB Memory Kit Review

After receipt of this set of RAM, we found our 7700K test system unable to handle the raw speed of what we are about to show off here today. Along with the need to run another faster set, which we will be showing off soon enough, we were faced with the obligation to update the test system. Doing so meant lots of testing, breaking out a few of the older kits we have, and seeing what the new system is capable of doing. With what we have already seen, nothing is holding back our ASRock X299 OCF and the i7 7740X CPU we are using now, and we can finally deliver the reviews of DDR4 with speeds higher than 3800MHz. That all brings us to what we have for you today. To help us find the issues with our previous system, we asked Corsair for some of their Vengeance LPX kits, and to break our last barrier, we asked them for a set with 4000MHz. TO be more specific, we are looking at the CMK16GX4M2E4000C19R kit, with timings of 19-23-23-45. On the face of it, we do know of tighter timed memory at this speed, but with Corsair opting for one of the best ICs on the planet to populate these sticks, with little effort involved, we have a distinct feeling that Corsair has let some meat on the bone. This set of DDR4 will allow us to get even more out of this kit than what Corsair sets as the XMP 2.0 profile.

Drevo X1 Pro 64GB SSD Review

The most cost effective way to improve the performance of a PC or laptop is without doubt replacing a mechanical hard drive with an SSD… however it’s not as cheap as it used to be. With prices showing no sign of dropping, a drive of any meaningful size is still going to set you back in excess of £100. Therefore if you are on a tight budget, but you still want the performance increase an SSD brings, you will be forced to look at smaller capacity drives.

Logitech Craft Wireless Keyboard Review

Typically here at ThinkComputers we are checking out gaming keyboards with mechanical key switches, RGB lighting, and more. Razer Phone Review

We evaluate Razer's most ambitious project yet. Gaming specialist Razer did something rather unexpected earlier this month by eschewing the fertile laptop and peripheral ground for an altogether different launch. That different was a premium smartphone that broke with high-end homogeneity and packed some nifty gamer-specific technology in the audio and visual fields. Enter the £699 Razer Phone.

What does Razer know about a premium smartphone that incumbent heavyweight players Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Sony, HTC, et al, don't? That's a legitimate question whose provenance lies with Razer's acquisition of phone maker Nextbit earlier in the year.

Razer liberally takes Nextbit Robin's design DNA, fuses it with its gaming mojo, adds some audio sauce by way of its purchase of THX, and then aims squarely for the gamer by using a novel Sharp screen imbued with ultra-high refresh rates and in-house adaptive-framerate UltraMotion technology. That's what the company wants you to believe, so let's see how well these claims hold true.

SteelSeries Sensei 310 ESports Gaming Mouse Review

I recently had the opportunity to review the SteelSeries Rival 310, a high performance gaming mouse that truly impressed me and earned the Legit Reviews Editors Choice Award. The build quality, ergonomics and performance of the evolved Rival 310 were all top-notch, but it was limited to right handed use and only had six buttons.
