IT'S NO SECRET that with the release of Microsoft's next version of SQL Server, code-named Yukon, the Redmond, Wash.-based database up-and-comer will be aiming to push its way further into the enterprise realm. What might be more surprising, however, is that analysts and customers are already saying that the technology behind Yukon is sound enough to compete with the likes of Oracle and IBM on many fronts.
