SEVERAL LARGE WEB FIRMS have co-signed a letter to the US Senate Judiciary Committee requesting more transparency regarding US National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance.

Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and AOL posted the letter at the end of last week, amid continuing fallout from NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden's revelations.
