Overclockers´ Workbench has posted up a review of the ASUS P3V4X mainboard. Here a snippet:
During the testing, the Asus V6800 fastwrite option in the bios cannot be enabled. Once Enabled, the system will hang on startup to Windows. I have tried repeatedly to email VIA Asus about this problem but to no avail. So for this test, fastwrite is a no go. Flashing the bios to the latest one does not help not using the latest Gart driver. But Sideband is available and enabled. Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro does not work at all, It used to work fine in Abit Be6 mainboard. 4.20 Gart drivers are avoided because of the 3D poor performance issue. Apparently, the driver causes the performance to drop as much as 20-25%!!! 4.20 drivers with 4.02 AGP drivers will be used instead (the 4.02 Gart installation will overwrite the 4.20 4 in 1 gart driver).Read more
