VIA Hardware has put up an article on the technology behind ATI's Radeon 7500 and 8500 video cards.
You may notice that I left out the Dual Display Architecture and Video Immersion II. This is because the Dual Display Architecture is identical to the Radeon 7500. Video Immersion II is worth discussing briefly. It is mostly the same except it supports temporal filtering of video - making for smoother playback.
