When the SK-6 was launched back in May of 2001 (it seems like a century ago), it became an instant success and the darling of Overclockers; and just about everyone who took cooling their hot CPU's seriously. CPU coolers have been divided into two size classes since the SK-6 was launched, those that support an 80mm fan and those that use 60mm fans, with adherence supporting each class. Usually there are some issues concerning compatibility with some motherboards when using the larger 80mm coolers, mostly due to lack of compatibility issues when using 60mm coolers. However, to accomplish the same degree of cooling, the 60mm fans required for top performance are considerably noisier than 80mm counterparts while moving the same amount of air.Read more
