Ice Gameware has posted a comparison between ATi's RADEON 8500 vs. nVidia's Geforce 3 Ti 500
On Thursday of the week before last, I finally decided it was time to drop some $$ for a new video card. I was very impressed with the RADEON 8500. Great price, fantastic image quality, and very good performance. I was in. So, that card came home with me on Friday of that week. I should mention that I am running Windows XP. I removed the drivers for my old GF2 GTS, and installed the RADEON. As I was installing the RADEON's newest drivers from ATi, I noticed video corruption. I went through with the install, and hoped that it was just because it was using Windows' standard video drivers. Playing my first few games of Quake 3, it was apparent that I had never seen how good Quake could look before. Wow I was impressed. However after 10 mins of playing, my system shut down.Read more
