AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X Review: Striking The Balance

AMD's 32-core, 64-thread Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX gives high-end desktop users access to the most compute horsepower available from a single CPU socket. But while it may be on many enthusiasts' wish lists, the processor's unique architecture causes poor performance in many common desktop applications. Moreover, an $1800 price tag makes the flagship Threadripper a niche product, even among professionals accustomed to paying a premium for workstation hardware.

The Ryzen Threadripper 2950X is unquestionably a better value proposition for the masses, offering 16 cores and 32 threads at a $900 price point. AMD's only real problem is that its own previous-gen Threadripper chips sell for less: the 16C/32T Threadripper 1950X can be found for $700, while the 12C/24T is available for under $500.

ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 ROG STRIX Gaming OC Review: Fast, Quiet, Pricey

Contrary to the past, choosing a CPU is relatively easy for veteran users because of easy access to information and clear-cut guides. AMD stepping up to the plate after so many years made it easier to choose. This guide is nothing more than a supplement in helping you narrow down your choices. In some countries, a combo purchase of a motherboard and a CPU could get you a small discount. I’ve heard in some stores around India, retailers refuse to sell either the CPU or motherboard separately which is strange and wrong at the same time. But there are many stores out there and there are online options.

MyDigitalSSD BPX Pro 480GB SSD Review

The 480GB BPX Pro from MyDigtialSSD is one of the best 512GB class NVMe SSDs shipping today. This is the second capacity we've tested and it's performance in relation to other products on the market is more competitive than the 960 GB model that has to combat the HP EX920 1TB. Shuttle XPC Slim Barebone DH310 Review

By having compatibility with the latest, non-ULV Coffee Lake processors from Intel, the Shuttle DH310 can deliver quite a bit of performance. Even if the i5 8600K is a 95W SKU, the TDP is automatically driven down to 65W maximum, this also meaning that the performance has been lowered a bit when all cores are at maximum load; in many other non-stressful usage patterns, the cores can reach the maximum Turbo Frequency without no issues at all. The unit can be used for many purposes, such as digital signage, POI, POS, office, healthcare, industry, media center and more given its multitude of interfaces.

Zotac Gaming RTX 2080 Ti Amp Graphics Card Review

Today is a pretty special day for me here at eTeknix. Today is the first time I’ve gotten my hands on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card. Furthermore, it’s from the fantastic brand that is Zotac! I’ve only ever tested one Zotac GPU here at eTeknix, and that was their stunning 1070 Ti Amp! Extreme Edition. Now they’re back with another high-end card and given it’s promising to be one of the fastest cards we’ve ever tested, we should be in for some pretty fantastic benchmark scores today.
