Anandtech: Best CPUs for Workstations: June 2021
It’s been a while since we updated this guide, perhaps because the world of the workstation processor you can buy on the shelf hasn’t really changed all that much. While AMD is releasing new hardware, and differentiating between the high-end desktop with Threadripper and workstation with Threadripper Pro, Intel by contrast released its latest retail HEDT/WS processors back in November 2019, and hasn’t been in a position to update them since. Beyond, all signs coming out of Intel on their HEDT/WS retail platform indicate that it is a market they do not have the products for. Instead Intel is focusing on its more enterprise Xeon WS solutions, which only really come as part of a pre-built system.

The Guru of 3D: Palit GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GamingPRO review
Palit joins the review queue with a product aimed to stick at or even below the FE editions MSRP. The reference clocked Gaming PRO graphics card has a beefy cooler, but other than that was design to remain cost-effective.

OCC: JWK Unlubed Linear Switch Review
As the name suggests, these are linear switches like the Silk Yellow and NK Cream switches I have reviewed previously (both provided by NovelKeys, which also provided the NK65 – Entry Edition I have been doing the switch reviews with). The similarities do not end there as the Silk series is manufactured by JWK as well, though they are factory lubricated with Krytox 205g0.

Mad Shrimps: SteelSeries Rival 5 Gaming Mouse Review
After trying out the mouse in Outriders, Saints Row: The Third Remastered, CS: GO and Tell Me Why, we did remember the great tracking capabilities of the TrueMove Air sensor, which we did also have the chance to try out on the Aerox 3 Wireless.

Phoronix: System76 Launch Review
Last month System76 launched their Launch Configurable Keyboard. They sent over this new open-source keyboard for some brief testing and I must say the build quality has been top notch and while this is their first keyboard they are bringing to market, with their US manufacturing expertise that began with their Thelio computer cases, it has carried forward with their Launch keyboard. This keyboard is beautifully crafted and among the most durable (and heaviest) keyboards I've used in the past two decades. It reminds me of the IBM Model M from a quality perspective but with its own unique advantages.

Anandtech: Best Internal Hard Drives: June 2021
Data storage requirements have kept increasing over the last several years. While SSDs have taken over the role of the primary drive in most computing systems, hard drives continue to be the storage media of choice in areas dealing with large amount of relatively cold data. Hard drives are also suitable for workloads that are largely sequential and not performance sensitive. The $/GB metric for SSDs (particularly with QLC in the picture) is showing a downward trend, but it is still not low enough to match HDDs in that market segment. Since the release of the last HDD guide which coincided with the take off of the cryptocurrency-fueled storage mania, we have seen the pricing and availability of the high-capacity models go for a toss stabilize a bit. This makes for an interesting update to our list of recommended hard drives for NAS and desktop usage.
