Best Laptops: Q3 2019

Its time for our quarterly look at the laptop market. For Q3 were in the midst of laptop updates, launches, and refreshes coordinated around the launch of Intels 10th generation Core processors. While Intels mixed-architecture strategy does make things a bit more confusing, at the end of the day every updated laptop is getting a boost to its CPU and GPU performance going into the fall.

Elgato 4K60 Pro V2 Capture Card Review

Elgato, a division of Corsair, made its name as a leading manufacturer for PC capture cards. The recent trend of streaming your playing skills to platforms such as Twitch and YouTube has brought such cards into sharper focus for a wide range of gamers and enthusiasts. Building on this momentum, Elgato has this week released a new high-performance capture card called the 4K60 Pro V2.

The original model is presented in a full-size PCIe form factor. V2, meanwhile, shrinks this to half-height PCIe 2.0 x4, as you can see from the picture above, and Elgato bundles in a half-height bracket for use in small form factor PCs, which is a sensible move. The accompanying software runs solely on Windows 10 - so no Linux or Mac - and requires a 6th Gen Core or Ryzen 7 CPU along with a graphics card capable of HEVC encoding.

Intel Comet Lake-S CPU Leak Suggests Early 2020 Release

With the 3rd-generation AMD Ryzen processors taking most of the headlines in recent months, it shouldn’t be forgotten that Intel (as you might expect) has a number of new processors either on the way or, at the very least, certainly in the pipeline.

Perhaps one of the highest-profile ‘upcoming releases‘ is the Comet Lake-S design and in a report via Videocardz, several slides (supposedly from Intel) have leaked indicating not only some of the specifications but also a rough release date.

Pagan Online Review

There are quite a few people hyped for the next ARPG worth sinking your teeth into, especially since the disappointing announcement that Diablo 4 would be a mobile rendition of the game ("Don?t you all have a phone??"). Pagan Online, developed by Mad Head Games, is catching the eye of quite a few people with its fast-paced clicky combat and Slavic themed storyline. Seagate Gears 5TB Game Drive Review

Seagate and Microsoft periodically team up to launch Game Drive solutions that match a new title coming to market. In the past, we have seen Halo and GoW feature limited-edition units and today that partnership carries on with the Gears 5 Limited Edition model.

With the Gears 5 solution, Seagate and Microsoft were able to match the aesthetics of the upcoming Gears 5 Xbox One Console to the new Game Drive solution. SteelSeries Arctis 9X Wireless Headset Review

I have been waiting for a proper wireless headset for Xbox One since I had my Day One console nearly six years ago. Over the last six years, we have had attempts from Astro that required an optical cable and large base station, and while comfortable I wanted the full PC experience, an experience I had with my Siberia H Series.

Earlier in the year, legit wireless solutions started appearing; first from Plantronics and then Turtle Beach. This was followed up by the Thresher from Razer that I reviewed and still use to this day. Then moving into the summer, I noticed Steelseries had released the Arctis 9X.
