All-round Deluxe PC - June 2016
The all-round Deluxe PC will last you a few years without requiring any upgrades. It is a bit more expensive, but is very complete as well. Using the internet, gaming, business applications, photo and video editing - all of these are possible on a good all-round PC, and you should never feel that you are lacking in performance for any of those activities.Read full article @ Hardware.Info
This means a good processor and graphics card from the upper mid-range segment. Fast, yet affordable. You also need enough RAM and storage space, not to mention an attractive chassis and reliable power supply that can last several years. Of course you need a quality monitor, mouse and keyboard, as these are used very frequently.

Case Mod Friday: Tt Desk
Welcome to another Case Mod Friday showcase! This week we have Peter Brands' "Tt Desk" build. Here is what he had to say about it, "Some might know me from my desk-pc builds ‘L3p D3sk’ and 'Cross Desk' or scratch build ‘L3pipe’. I have to admit I'm not really a competitive casemodder, more a passionate liquidcooling enthusiast. But with the Tt P5 and the idea I have as you can see in the banner I just couldn't resist"Read full article @ ThinkComputers.org
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 On Linux: OpenGL, OpenCL, Vulkan Performance
$699 USD is a lot to spend on a graphics card, but damn she is a beauty. Last month NVIDIA launched the GeForce GTX 1080 as the current top-end Pascal card and looked great under Windows while now finally having my hands on the card the past few days I've been putting it through its paces under Ubuntu Linux with the major open APIs of OpenGL, OpenCL, Vulkan, and VDPAU. Not only is the raw performance of the GeForce GTX 1080 on Linux fantastic, but the performance-per-Watt improvements made my jaw drop more than a few times. Here are my initial Linux results of the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Founder's Edition.Read full article @ Phoronix
NZXT Manta mITX Computer Case Review
"Meet us in the hotel lobby, and make sure you have a valid driver's license and closed toe shoes on." As I read the email during CES earlier this year, a wave of thoughts rushed into my head. "What requires closed toe shoes and a driver's license? A bar? Go-karting?" The morning of the press meet, I rode the public bus to the hotel lobby in anticipation. It took me a while to find where everyone else was, but once I recognized a few faces, I waited with them till we were loaded onto a party bus. Lights flashed, loud music played, and I talked with some of the other people on the bus. Apparently, our destination was a well-kept secret, because we all had no idea as to our destination. About half an hour later, we pulled into a large parking lot. We looked out the tinted windows and saw a Nissan GT-R and a large sign on the building saying "Exotics Racing". From there, we were all thrilled and shocked, especially when we learned we would be driving Ferraris and Lamborghinis later on. However, the first order of business was to look at the new product on display. We were herded into a side room, and there stood the NZXT Manta in its prototype form. It was wrapped in a sort of NZXT car-like wrap. When we asked them why they brought us to the race track, they mentioned it was because many of their cases had been car-inspired. Very few details were given to us, and we were not even allowed to look inside the Manta. Honestly, the day was a huge build up to the moment of not only the prototype reveal, but also the racing. Now the wait is now over, as today we finally have the NZXT Manta on our tabletop. After all the excitement NZXT built this case up to be, I have to ask, does the final product live up to the anticipation? Hopefully today's review will answer my questions, and more. Also, driving a Ferrari was awesome.Read full article @ APH Networks
Raijintek Shows Off Pumpless Liquid Cooling System
In the recent year’s all-in-one liquid cooling solutions gained significant popularity thanks to efficiency and quieter operation. However, even with those improvements, a closed loop cooler still needs a pump to enable circulation of liquid as well as at least one fan to maximize cooling efficiency. Seen as the next step, pumpless liquid cooling systems have been discussed by various developers for a while, and Raijintek demonstrated one at Computex 2016.Read full article @ Anandtech
The prototype of Raijintek’s pumpless liquid cooling system is comprised of a completely passive CPU/GPU water block with a copper base (featuring a system of very thin channels to maximize heat dissipating surface area) with two nozzles of different diameter, two tubes as well as a radiator (images are by Hermitage Akihabara). The LCS is filled with a customized coolant, which has evaporation point of around 40°C to 50°C. Once the CPU or the GPU gets hot enough, the coolant turns into vapor and streams to the radiator through one of the tubes where it condenses back to liquid, whereas the cool coolant streams back to the water block.
