EK Predator 360 AIO CPU and GPU Liquid Cooling Review

EK is back and with something big and black, this round with their all new massive 360 Predator series liquid cooler kit. We test this EK XCL Predator 360 on a Core i7 4790K processor and also will add a Radeon R9 Nano to the all-in-one liquid cooling loop. The end result in cooling performance and low noise levels are terrific as even overclocked our graphics card would not even pass 40 Degrees C. The nice thick radiator, proper tubing and an excellent water-blocks that are pre-filled and fitted kit are downright impressive, you know what ? Have a quick peek

We will test the EK-XLC Predator 360 both in a single loop just cooling the CPU - and in the second part of the article, we'll add a Radeon R9 Nano into the loop.

You know, in the world of CPU coolers nothing ever stops developing. These days you can select from a hundred different heat-pipe based coolers, where many are shaped, formed and priced the same. The better heat-pipe based coolers are good though. Next in line are LCS systems (liquid cooling) setup followed by the real and proper expensive liquid cooling kits. The entry level LCS products are affordable, easy to install pre-fab liquid cooling kits. We've seen and tested many of them as Corsair, Asetek, NZXT, Cooler Master and so on all have interesting kits. Weirdly enough we never tested anything from Slovenia based EK though. That ends and starts today. See things are complicated, 80% of the AIO kits out there is based on an Asetek design, as they hold all the patents. In fact on numerous occasions they have successfully sued manufacturers for using the concept of a pump and liquid cooling block AIO. So to release an LCS product that does not interfere with existing designs that fall under a patent EK stepped up. For their excellent stand-alone liquid cooling kits they went to the drawing table and designed the Predator series.

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Review

Controller modding has become big business, there are strange attachments available for standard controllers, replacement parts, stick on grips and there are even established businesses which were are centric to the game pad like SCUF which deliver to gaming community what they are looking for, a competitive advantage. In games where analogue sticks are vital to every movement, function of the game, like action shooters, FPSs or even racing games, there are times when moving your thumb away from the stick, even for a fraction of a second, means win or lose, life or death, yet that unpredictable crunch can come at any time. Use paddles on the underside of controllers is not a new idea, in fact, controller modding has existed for as long as controllers have, converting D-pad into joysticks and vice versa, creating new buttons to act as a combination of buttons, and it all whittles down to that competitive edge. As competitive gaming is booming the need and demand has risen dramatically yet there has been little to no response by the official console makers to really meet this need.

As the Xbox One was being launched, Microsoft had pride in the R & D they invested into the Xbox One controller, why wouldn't they? It was set to become the main interface with a next-gen console and PC for the next number of years, yet on release it faced a list of issues and complaints including stiff/ near unusable bumpers, lack of headphone jack and reliability issues, worse still the customer service and warranty was abysmal. Microsoft then responded by announcing that they have a refreshed controller in the works which addressed all these issues, followed by the announcement of the Elite controller. Showing off replaceable magnetic parts, re-mappable rear paddles, hair triggers and a lot of metal, Microsoft directly responded to the needs of the enthusiast and pro gamer.
