Bozteck has released a new version of their aVNC based remote management software
2006.3.14.3 ChangesBozteck VNC Scan 2006.3.14.3
Fix: Menus reload properly when adding custom commands and scripts.
Fix: There was an error when trying to import from Active Directory. Gone.
Fix: If you where deploying VNC to a list of computers and one of them was not pingable, the whole script would just die right there. This no longer happens.
Feature: When you specify alternate credentials, you can now use the %HOST% variable and it will get replaced with the name or IP address of the computer being worked on when a script or command is run against it. This also works for the VNC deployment wizard.
The purpose of this addition is because if you are operating without a domain on your network, authentication can get particularly nasty - especially when you have multiple local Administrator accounts with conflicting passwords.
When you specify %HOST%\Administrator, You can be sure that you are using the local Administrator account on the remote computer and not your own local Administrator account.
