Computer Associates this week rolled out back-up and disaster recovery software for Windows 2000 and Windows NT that also includes virus scanning and recovery services.
ARCserve 2000 allows serverless backup over the network; data flows directly between storage and the back-up device without impacting the server resources. It also can use the failover services of Microsoft Cluster Services (MSCS). Agents are available for Microsoft SQL Server that maintains transaction integrity in the event of failure. Users also can purchase agent software for Microsoft Exchange Server, Ingres, Lotus Notes and SAP R/3.
