AMD Ryzen CPUs are set for a microcode update in November

Microcode is the lowest level of CPU and machine instruction sets that are loaded from the BIOS – think of it as a firmware for the CPU. AMD will be releasing a new microcode in November that will have more than 100 feature updates and improvements for Ryzen CPUs according to MSI marketing Director, Eric van Beurden.

During the MSI Insider show on YouTube, it was said that AMD will start rolling out the BIOS to motherboard Vendors this week. The new BIOS will first pass through the vendor who is responsible for updating the code and then be pushed to motherboard manufacturers soon afterwards, who will then probably spend a couple of weeks tweaking and finetuning the BIOS to suit each of their motherboard models. During the MSI Insider show, the upcoming X570 Unify motherboard was also looked at in detail.

Batman & Robin 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Review

In all my years reviewing films and lurking in film forums, there's very few films that unite audiences in hatred as Batman & Robin does, which sits at just 11% on Rotten Tomatoes. It is today as it was in 1997; an over-the-top, bombastic sequel with a plot firmly entrenched in fantasy, filled with silly puns from actors hamming it up for the camera, more glitter and camp than a mardi gras and all quite removed from the grit of the Burton films. And all that said, I'm going to completely destroy my credibility by admitting I still enjoy every second. Joined by his new crime-fighting partner Robin (Chris O'Donnell), Batman (George Clooney) faces off against a trio of new villains in town; Mr Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger) who aims to bring never-ending winter to Gotham, Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman) who wants plant life to reclaim the world and her ill-tempered off-sider Bane (Jeep Swenson) that just wants to smash it all.

Dry Drowning Review

When I previewed Dry Drowning three months ago I had a big issue, an almost game-breaking issue, the game simply wouldn’t do as it expects people without means to do – stick to its place. Aspects of the game weren’t showing on-screen, I was struggling to get things to simply work. Fortunately, developers Studio V have fixed any technical issues, allowing me to plough through a futuristic, dystopian, noir detective story where it’s time to solve some crimes.

Only, these crimes are gruesome and within the horrible city of Nova Polemos, a place under the tyrannical rule of the upper class, where elections are rigged and the usefulness of a person is determined by a test. Fail that test and, well, things aren’t looking good for you. If it weren’t for the time difference, this being set in 2066, I imagine Andrew Ryan would have very much liked to visit.

XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT THICC II Ultra Video Card Review

The one thing we have all been waiting for is the release of custom retail add-in-board partner video cards based on the new AMD Radeon RX 5700 series. The AMD Radeon RX 5700 series was launched on July 7th, the Radeon RX 5700 has an MSRP of $349 and the Radeon RX 5700 XT has an MSRP of $399. We’ve finally got a full custom retail video card from XFX today to see how this compares to the reference video card and the competition.

Caution: Be wary of early reviews of this video card. There was a vBIOS issue at launch that may have put a negative spin on this video card due to fan profiles and power not being set correctly. This may have caused some negative reviews. Be sure to be aware of what vBIOS is installed for each review you read. Our review today is based on the latest fixed vBIOS from XFX so this is how the video card is supposed to perform. Let’s find out if this makes the Radeon RX 5700 XT interesting.
