The Chill Vent takes a different approach to processor cooling that does not require the end user to pull off their existing heatsink / fan combo which is a boon for the average computer user who may not feel comfortable removing and reinstalling a heatsink. This is beneficial in a number of ways; it reduces the chance of breaking a processor, improper mounting of a heatsink and potentially voiding your warranty. As the Chill Vent requires no modification to anything inside the case and in most cases just sits on top of the current heatsink/fan, it can be removed should the need for servicing come up. We observed 3-4 C temperature differences in most configurations with the Chill Vent something that falls within the lower range of numbers quoted from Kool Solutions.
