The fifth installment of Firaxis' popular turn-based strategy series was launched last Friday, September 24, and we've decided to greet the title with a battery of tests. Published by 2K Games, Sid Meier's Civilization V is a classic example of what many like to call a "4X" game, as players manage an empire where they "explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate."

4X games are noted for their complex gameplay, with emphasis placed on economic and technological development, as well as a range of non-militaristic paths to supremacy. Although admittedly turn-based strategy games are not our cup of tea, we will be focusing on how the game performs when using a wide range of GPUs and CPUs.[/quote6

NZXT has been building cases for the past six years, but this summer the company said they would release their most elegant and intelligent chassis design to date with a new full tower called, the Phantom. The Phantom has 7 fan cooling options, 7 storage drives, room larger video card, support for E-ATX motherboards and even has a fan controller for up to five fans! Not a bad feature list for a case that runs around $145 shipped.

The NZXT Phantom is hands down one of the finest computer cases I have ever had the pleasure of reviewing. With its sleek aerodynamic look and slew of features, I have a feeling it will be make people take notice for years to come. With a price tag of $139.99 and a two year warranty, it is clearly priced to compete with and dominate the other full tower cases in its class such as the Corsair Obsidian (shown below) which has all of the same features except for being made of aluminum, but is priced $120 higher...

Today I will be looking at the latest version of USB headphones by Logitech: the G930 wireless headset. Besides being wireless do these cans have any other tricks up their sleeves? Read on for my full review.

The Verdict:
The Logitech G930 wireless headphones really are better then the G35's in nearly every way! Not only does the wireless feature work and work WELL, the ability to individually tweak the sound level of each of the virtual speakers takes these cans to the next level.

The Good:
+ Volume control over individual channels allowing tweaking to sound stage
+ Easy to use software
+ Stylish good looks
+ Very good sound
+ Surround sound works very well for movies and most games
+ Seamless transition from wireless to wired
+ Crystal clear wireless reception
+ Decent battery life

The Bad:
- Volume control on headphones is software and not hardware based
- Still less than optimal choices for G Key (still no VLC support!)
- Battery is not easily replaceable
- Still doesn't work in all older games
- Voice changer options are still gimmicky and I prefer the G35s options!
- Still no travel case included

The Arctic Sound P531 is a 5.1 USB headset from Artic Cooling, very helpful in games which require 3D sound positioning, but also movies or sound files that have multi-channel sound content, and produces a very nice bass. The casing is built mostly from plastic, but does not give us a cheap feel and thanks to that it is very light. The software can even transform the stereo sound which we listen to the most into 5.1 so we can use the surround feature everywhere.
