Microsoft has released Commerce Server 2007 Trial Software

Commerce Server 2007 version includes new capabilities and improvements that allow a developer to create more flexible and high-performance sites faster, as well as empowering and enabling administrators and business users to more effectively manage and maintain sites. New integration features enable customers to easily integrate new Commerce Server 2007 sites with their existing systems and infrastructure.

Important additions in Commerce Server 2007 include:

• Significantly improved business user and developer experiences
• Extended support for integration with existing line-of-business systems, including BizTalk Server 2006 Adapters
• Better support for deploying, monitoring, and managing sites

Commerce Server 2007 also uses the latest releases of other Microsoft technologies. It is built on version 2.0 of the .NET Framework, for example, and its developer tools are hosted in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, fully leveraging ASP.NET 2.0. For storage, Commerce Server 2007 can use SQL Server 2005, the latest version of Microsoft’s flagship database product, or SQL Server 2000, the previous release. Commerce Server 2007 can also run on 64-bit Windows, taking advantage of the larger memory and other benefits that this new generation of hardware offers.
